About 100,000 people dead..... Maybe up to 500,000 people....

I am completely devastated when I first read this. I was shocked that something so massive could cause so much wreck in such a short amount of time...

How do you guys feel? I'm shocked...

Morally, this is a tragedy. I really do feel bad for all those people, 100,000 + people, that were injured and killed in the quake.

Unfortunately (I would say, fortunately), nature has to do it's work. What is done is done.

    Haiti Earthquake

    It was a 7.0.

It was very powerful hitting a very poor country with very badly built buildings. Not a good combination.

My uncle knows a guy that is trying to get people to go over there and help clean up. I might try to volunteer my time, but i do not have enough money for a plane ticket so i doubt that would work. We'll see

As if the people in Haiti didn't have enough to care about....

They are probably one of the poorest nations in the world with a poor economy and living styles.

Now, they are in a devastation and have to clean up the rubble, and most likely look for a loved one who hasn't recovered. It's such a sad thing... My dearest condolences goes out to all those who have suffered through this trajedy.

Just saw this on the news...never seen one hit so quick and yet do so much.

That country has a real potential to go into a desperation civil war if not stabilized soon.

Not really shocked, I saw what happened during Katrina so no real natural disasters can surprise me really. Now Obama is gonna dump more money we don't have to try and fix their shit, but its just going to enter the pockets of corrupt government politicians.

one fact that really bothers me is that most deaths from the earthquake will occur after aka people trapped under building etc. In America, sonar can be used to find trapped bodies. But in a country like Haiti i doubt there is any way to rescue the mass amounts of people trapped

I heard there was a main quake, 7.0, and 2 smaller ones, 5-ish? My History teacher showed us a video of the destruction, and it is really bad. Our school is gathering some money to help out.

My news station said earlier: "Thousands dead in Haiti, including TWO local students!"

Wow. Really. Two US students are really more important than all those people, and need a special mention? <_<
