    Debilitating Depression

I've been unable to get out of bed and have been laying in bed instead of doing anything.
    I'm probably depressed.
I'm just looking for a way to get inspired to play RuneScape.
So many various things have been attempted. The question I wanna ask is how do you get motivated to get up in the morning?

Ello mate, first of all sorry to hear you're not in a good place

Now then, so really you wanna consider what you was doing before you got into this situation of where you feel that way, and what happens after you feel this way. I have recently gone into therapy and I found out I have sever depression/anxiety so I know it can be annoying trying to figure these things out at times

For me at least, I find that my wife & kids are what keep me going, before them I didn't know what life was and I tried to do stupid stuff like going out with my mates drinking and all that stuff all the time and while it was fun in the short term, the long term it just didn't help at all

What I would suggest with that being said, try find something positive around you and grip it at all costs. The main issue is finding what you can actually do to get to that spot first, and making sure you actually keep at it, example I can give you is the gym. If you haven't already, sign up to a gym close to you, get some headphones and a bottle of water and just go ham, you will feel great when you come out trust me

I genuinely appreciate the good advice you've given me. I'm going to try working out and perhaps continue with my martial arts training. That seems to help a lot, and it also gives me an excuse to leave the house. By bettering myself, I will be able to regain my confidence and self-esteem.

Are you / have you ever been through therapy? What about self-help books?

Do you feel this is having a serious impact on your life? Or just giving you days / moments when you feel "down" and can't achieve anything?

I honestly don't even know how to start by day sometimes, I also feel like I have no energy.

How much sleep do you normally get each day? How many hours?

Are you eating well enough also? Drinking enough water?

That's depression. You'll need external help to get out of that. Try to open up about your situation with people you trust IRL - visit your doctor and tell him about your state.

    Debilitating Depression

Depression is just a lack of motivation which also translates to a lack of belief in something.
Religious ppl believe life will get better after death to keep them going.
Entrepreneurs believe their next idea will make them rich.
Sports ppl believe they will be the best there is.

For me, it's about making myself a realistic but hardly achievable goal, that I can contribute daily to and adding more goals every day as I progress towards unachievable. You can distract yourself with games/bad stuff but that's only a short-term fix.
Just need to find a purpose that you BELIEVE is possible to achieve.

Great responses already, but I highly recommend therapy. It really does help but is quite hard to start. They are really good at making you feel comfortable and after a few months you will feel like a brand new person, as they help you get to the root of your problems

    Debilitating Depression

Jordan Peterson lectures and content helped me pull my act together with my addictions and vices.

Maybe you could try the same?

I have linked a few Jordan Peterson videos below.
