    Damn scammers.

True. My arguement is I just joined, and indeed I am a "leecher." But I have absolutly no intention to scam. Now, how many other leechers say this? Hundreds. My point being that it would be hard to hand pick each leecher out of the bunch. However, MSN holds many secrets, and many scammers tend to let stuff "slip out" over MSN. I'd be up to help, but then again, I'm a leecher, haha.

    Damn scammers.

Well if a person is REFUSING to use an OMM or w/e, its obvious what he is up to....

people need to be more careful, and always use an OMM, and scamming will drop by alot.

Not exactly, there are people with "Trust" issues out there. We can't just run off calling scammers because he doesn't play it they way we want them too.

It's best, if you feel anything wrong with a trade, to be cautious of any suspicious behavior. And if you are too nervous, then that traded probably isn't for you and you should not do it.

Loving the discussion guys, keep it going :)

I am certainly not afraid for someone to take over this system.

    Damn scammers.

Support, we need more mods in the market area.

But I don't support the "Ban" because of suspicion, kind of silly to me.

Roddy, hang in there. After you get a few vouches, and a higher post count... You can ask for them to go first. Alternatively learn to spot possible scams, and ask for a MM.

    Damn scammers.

We need to stop enabling them and educate new users better. Some forums have required reading before you can even post...

We need a forum/thread/post dedicated to addressing ALL known scams and how to prevent them...

I think we also need a forum/thread/post which encourages the use of OOM's and popular shops.

    For example :

A person registers and is required to read the new users black market guide -

It will detail as follows :

Middle men and how they work - A list of official/trusted middle men

Fire Cape Services and how they work - A list featuring popular capers like Manraynor and Kabal

Gold Trading and how it works - A list featuring popular gold sellers like R2Pleasent and d great one

Account training and how it works - A list featuring popular trainers like Smok3y & Campbell and Cosrob97

Get it? Promote popular and well-established businesses! Maybe their own forum?

Featuring one or two popular businesses might also increase competition between the two if they're both singled out to everyone joining. (special deals, lower prices, more banner advertisement opportunities) Which will help the community in general.
    --

The main problem is that it may inadvertently hurt up-and-coming businesses.

    Damn scammers.

I like the way scammers post on these sorts of threads.. I agree with Marda 100%. I have my own business and help support my friends and clients do the same. It's a great way of creating trust :)

It would be great if everyone on the forums has at least had the opportunity to read the rules to Sythe.org It would reduce confusion, and really help to weed out scammers. Anyone not following those rules is not to be traded :D

Scammers, cmon.. At least pull your act together and stop wasting our time. Scam us fast and make it clever. Otherwise just go away.. It's annoying.

    Damn scammers.

Moderators ALWAYS say "I like the idea but it wont happen".

    WHY can't it happen??

Im new to Sythe.org, and I have heard about 70% of it scams, possibly more, we need to REDUCE these numbers dramatically, having next to no scammers, so why can't it happen? and you wondor why people get scammed.

    Damn scammers.

This is a great idea. But before I get into that, I must criticize it.

    - You will not be Lead Market Guru. Someone with hopefully more time at the site than you, although it would be hard to match your obvious knowledge of various scamming techniques, as I believe in what knowledge is presented to me.

    - Sythe.org has always turned down various systems of scammer organization and has never incorporated one thing to help catching scammers except for the Trade With Caution sign and the Report A Scammer forums. I can tell you right now, the chance of this being denied is higher than the number of scammers on this site. So basically, sorry, no.

    - This could be implemented without creating many ranks and forums, and various other things. All it needs is an educated user to catch a scammer. It's relatively easy to spot any suspicious activity from any user. Again, although it could be more simply put, Sythe will just not bother to create something to cut down on the scammers.

This is a very well thought-out idea, well presented, and cleanly oriented. But it could be much simpler than having Market Guru specialized TWC and other ranks, aside from Lead Market Guru. It can be done simpler without any ranks.

    First,
    - have a forum (since it involves making forums it won't be made :/ ) to handle various scammer things.

    - incorporate the "report a scammer" section into this forum.

    - Have various, clean, organized threads that deal with scammer problems as in:
    - known sold accounts
    - suspicious accounts (suspicious of scamming activity)
    - known scamming accounts (list of market banned or users banned through the use of this system)

This would need many people as a community to incorporate, but it can be done. The only problem with these is that Sythe won't do anything about it, as stated before. Again, this is a well-polished and seemingly successful idea, but it would need revising in various areas and fine tuning in others, to even be considered for incorporation.

Sorry if my idea hijacked the thread, just giving my 2 cents on the idea.

    Damn scammers.

You seem to think you're pretty qualified for a 'Master Market Guru' position, don't you? This is just your rendition of a RaS mod.

This also should be /denied because he's suggesting ranks.

    Damn scammers.

Good example of scamming is Steam-trades, all steamsellers got their steamaccs by supplier who hacked them and the account will be retrieved within a day Lol. Happened me 6 or more times when i thought i'd save 40bucks on mw2 but well atlast i had spent over 120 bucks to it.

    Agreed.

This seems like an outcry for a rank. If this were to be implemented I suggest you must have been a member of Sythe for over a year with a considerable amount of legitimate vouches.

    Rexar:
I don't think there should be anybody else. The 'Market Guru' ranks would be pointless. It's just a complicated version of a RaS mod. I think that the plain old RaS mod is a good idea, but you can't suggest ranks.

Also, you can have multiple accounts, DerpDerp.

    Damn scammers.

ranks mean nothing on here anymore.. I was scammed by an OMM and i was pointed to him by a forums mod. So this ranking system is a good idea but just not really what sythe.org is looking for.

I believe it should have a points system, where if u make a sell you get a point or whatever and you need so many certain sells or legit buys to get to another part of the forums so you can get a general idea of more legit buys but at the same time it still don't mean they won't scam, so i believe there's no way to get rid of them..sorry i say no
