How To Study!

WTF, I got 3 Essays!, that were due 3 Days ago, but luckily I've been saved by 40 CM of snow.

Been 3 days and still I haven't bothered do it,I'm going back to school Monday, I know I can easily finish them in one day BUT what motivates you to study!

My bloody Phone goes off every 5 minutes, I end up saying I'm goner do it later but come, 2 hours later and I CBF.

FUCK I HATE SIXTH FORM

 

1) Turn your phone off.
2) Get something you enjoy(ice cream, games) and set that aside as a reward.
3) Sit down and do it.
4) Enjoy the rewards.


Fact - English and maths are all you need. Science and everything else is pretty much useless so if you have english or maths do them first.

Yea I got English and biology the thing is I'm very much capable of doing them just can't pull myself to study.

 

Go to a quiet place with no distractions. It is so easy.

 

Since you have snow and phone trouble...


Just throw your phone outside or take the battery out give it to your mom to hide until your finished.

 

I'm in exactly the same situation. Just disconnect yourself from the internet (if you are typing the essays), turn off your phone and take a 5 minute break every half hour to get a drink etc. Tell yourself that at the end of the essays you can go do something that you enjoy doing.

 

This method is the best to use and I'm not even lying.

Take 15 minute intervals. Study for 15 minutes and then do something on the computer. Eat, walk your dog, go outside, then study again for 15 minutes. Studying for a long time actually doesn't work. Taking intervals is the best way. I have even tested it myself.

On one test I studied for 2 hours straight. On the other one I used the interval method. I got a C on the one I studied for 2 hours. I got an A- on the interval one.

Also study before you go to sleep. When you do that the information keeps circling your brain while you sleep and it's not hard to forget the things you studied.

Why don't you just flip a few switches in your head and do the work. Having someone else hide your phone wouldn't make you stop thinking about it.

 

I'm sure it's not that hard to turn your phone off. Just sit yourself down, and just think of how much you'll regret not doing your homework/studying. Or just fail and use that realization to get back to your senses.

Yeah I've decided to dedicate tomorrow to doing my essays I've already finished one today, wasn't too hard my mum dropped me off at the Library today, pretty interesting place Hah.

Tomorrow I'm going to see the Arsenal Match so I don't want to be in a shitty mood, so I might do it on Sunday cause there isn't football training anymore Also the match might get cancelled who knows

My suggestion for you is to disable all communication devices, sit down, and really think about what you want to write about. You'll more than likely come up with something decent, and from there - if you feel any urge for study - you'll probably be lured into an undisturbed flow of writing. Before you know it, you'll have your essay!

 

Just think of what you will become if you dont do it ^^ :nuts:

 

Turn off your phone and just put it on another level on the house. Put the Ethernet cable or turn your router off also if possible. Remember you don't need to do it all in one sitting! Take occassional breaks, and reward yourself. Play video games or something. Keep in mind though that you should be free from distractions when you're studying.

 

That's only true if you are a weak minded person and choose to stay weak minded. Some people will reach a point when they will have enough willpower to bring themselves to do the work whenever they want instead of avoiding it till the very last moment. But nice try.

But with what everyone else has been saying just turn off your phone, and take intervals. I've seen 15 and 10 minute suggestions so far, and I personally do everything in 15 minute intervals.
