    Man nearly dies from deodorant!

A British man almost died on Christmas Day after suffering a severe allergic reaction to spray-on deodorant Lynx Fever that caused his throat to close.

Darren Palmer, 36, was using the anti-perspirant for the first time when his skin broke out in blotches and he went into anaphylatic shock, the Daily Mail reported.

Seconds after applying the deodorant Mr Palmer began to suffer the severe reaction and went to the bathtub to try and wash it off.

But his throat and windpipe began to close with swelling, forcing his wife Joanne to call paramedics.

"It all happened so fast, it was terrible," he said.

"I work spraying chemicals so I would have thought if I had any sort of allergy I would have found out before now."

Ambulance officers gave Mr Palmer oxygen and adrenalin after his airways began to close.

Allergic reactions to chemicals are likely to be more pronounced in sensitive areas like armpits, where the deodorant was sprayed.

I always knew that house-hold items were deadly.
