    Sythe, Paradise For Scammers?

its been a month since my last visit here.

astonishingly, i found the scammer (sydney669914) who scammed me finally got banned. i remember trying so hard to get him banned after he scammed me, but to no vail.

i was like, gf someone else might had been scammed then.
so i searched his name. again astonishingly, i found so many reports against this same person. and, NONE of them had led to the ban. He was actually banned by Skele_Master (ty btw) for fake vouch :O

For your EASE OF READING, Mods, here are the reports i have found, ALL of which are IGNORED (till today), without any replies from any Mods or anyone, no asking for more proof, neither locked, they are simply ignored.

    http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?t=725355&highlight=sydney669914

if you take a look, all of them come with screenies or even video. ok maybe they are not nicely edited, but no one cares to give a suggestion considering youve got so many similar reports?

i like how he's banned bc of his own thread.
    http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?t=723925&highlight=sydney669914

im just wondering what if he didnt make the fake vouch, how many more ppl would be scammed by him?

if this continues to happen, sythe i seriously suggest that you put "Paradise For Scammers" as your slogan.

And Mods, you may ban me or whatever, idc, but dont lock this thread. instead, go and do what you are supposed to, or this place will actually turn into Paradise For Scammers and nightmare of the others.

I think you must be very careful on this site, because of the scammers. I think every black market gives room for scammers somehow. I'm glad the guy is banned =).

However I think it's hard to become trusted on this site since no one trusts you if your new. Logical due to the scammers. Well I quess I'll yust take some time until I'm trusted!

It is really no one's fault but your own for getting scammed. You should always check the RaS forum before trading with a user, and if there were already reports against him, you should have been mindful of the fact.

Roughly 400 reports come in every month, and they are tedious to sort through; sometimes, we do fall behind. They all get dealt with eventually.

400/month is like 13/day, that isnt really a lot considering you got more than 1 staff to look at them right? i know it gets boring, thank you for your hard work (i hope you get paid).

from my observation, 99% if not all ppl who get reported do scam.

    here is an example:

    http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?t=739661
the guru used a "notepad" trick. he was supposed to send the kid 42 pins after the kid paid him. as soon as the kid sent him $100, the guru sent him a .txt file. the kid was like "what i cant see anything", the guru was like "wtf you just want to blackmail me".

the report was ignored. but if you look carefully, the .txt file was only 1kb, 42 pins? no way!

Trade with extremely trusted people to start with and as you get more vouches people will trust you more...that's how it happens to everyone.

My experience has been one of taking your time and search the Seller/Buyer's background not only here on Sythe, but also through a search engine. Big trades take more time and should not be rushed. However in the end it comes down to something as simple as... "I'm calling your Mom and Dad". I have never conducted a trade that I did not have the info needed to uphold this promise.

You do a lot of trades that are over $100, but I think most trades on sythe are under the sum for $50, such as pin sales, questing and skilling services, and low account sales. Scammers usually look for low sum'd trades so that they wouldn't have to give out their personal info.
