No. It's up to the sellers whether the buyer can scam. They now have many more new methods available such as this teamview method along with old methods (such as the mm) to prevent scams from occuring.

This way, there are ways to prevent scams. The way that has been suggested, "If I don't apply the pin and it doesn't work then too bad", just leaves the door open for sellers to provide and already used pin and not provide a refund/new pin when it doesn't work. And there's NO WAY to prevent this from happening.

If both parties have the opportunity to scam then that is more fair than the seller having the opportunity to scam and claim that the buyer is scamming.

    Pin sales bullcrap...

I bought a pin 2 days ago. My best advice is to go with someone who has been doing it for along time.

Of course you'll never be 100% covered but there are things you can do....

My pin seller took my acct over, put the PIN on and sent me a message to try it immediately. Flawless execution.

Never used teamviewer before but for PIN sales looks like a good thing from what I hear.

People will obviously notice a difference if someone with a pin shop has all complaints about fake pins.

If the buyer is honestly scammed, it would be quite easy to prove. The buyer could email jagex with the pin and Jagex would reply with when/if the pin was used....

Yes, but there's nothing to prevent the scam from happening in the first place. Only to prove guilt.

Pin sellers cannot deny responsibility for a faulty pin. At the same time, just because a user claims a pin doesn't work, doesn't mean the seller has to give them another one. To show favor either way would create an easy loophole for scamming.

It is encouraged that MM's be used to protect against such issues. If not, and the traders are unable to resolve the issue amongst themselves, a report should be posted for staff review. This is how it's always been - it's murky, but there is no fair or secure alternative.
