Drewskyd's Guide To: Making Your Threads Look More Professional.

Ok, For this guide, I will be showing you how to make your thread looks more professional. This is useful for service threads and when selling things. It makes you look more legitimate and professional. This guide is mostly based on common sense, but it should help some people. Now, on with the guide.

Ok, so first let's go over the basic things you will use a lot when making your threads look nicer. The things you will use most often are: Bold, Italic, Underline, Center, Hyperlink, Colors, Sizes, Image, and Fonts. (You will also use other things too, but these are probably the most used things when making a thread.) In the picture below the most used things are outlines in red, the moderately used are in yellow, and the least used are in blue.

I have left some things out like the undo and redo, because those can be used a lot or a little depending on how many mistakes you make. Also, I've made some less than they are actually used because they a rarely ever clicked, this is because some things like e-mail's and links automatically get the tags put around them. Also, these are mostly based on how I use them, everyone's usage could be different.

Now, About using these things, I will explain how each one is usually used when making a service thread. First...Bold, Italic, and Underline. These are used usually to put enphasis on something or to make it stand out in your thread. For example this whole thread is bolded, to make it more readable and interesting looking.

The Alignment Options- like Center, and Right Align, and those things. These are used to change the position of text or images in a thread. Like so, I will center the word "Center" below.
    Center
As you can see it was put in the middle of the thread.

Fonts, Sizes, and Colors- these are options are mostly to help make your thread more visually appealing. You can play around with these until you get something that looks nice with your thread. But, these settings can also be used to separate some sections.

Hyperlink- it is actually used a lot more in good threads than you would think. Hyperlink is usually used in two different ways. First, is using it to make regular text into a link. And the Second, is to make a picture a link. I mostly use the second in my threads. An example of this is my signature, if you click on "Vouches" in my signature, it will bring you to a new page with my vouches.

Image Tags- Image Tags are very easy to use but sometimes making the images can be hard, I talk about images later in the guide though.

Most of the other things are self-explanatory. But, I will continue on how to lay out your thread and then after, I will talk about images.

Layout- Ok, so the layout of your thread is mostly based on your personal opinion on how things look, but there are some things that you will need to know when making a thread. First, you need to know that you need a nice heading, preferably an image with a nice animation, you can do things like this with Photoshop, I would suggest looking up Photoshop tutorials, because they will greatly help you when making a thread. The heading needs to included some information, but it is basically the same as your thread title. Next, you will need to introduce your service, you can do this on your own, but it should probably be in a bigger size and different color than most of your thread. Third, You will go into the details of your service and should probably seperate large sections with nice images. Each smaller, different section should probably be underlined or a different color or something along the lines of that. You will want to include contact details and anything else you might need to add into the thread also...Put as much information into the thread as possible!

Images are a very important part of a thread. You can use them for headers, for new sections, for showing a character or item, for decoration, showing your contact information, pretty much anything. Figuring out how to use images properly is a major part of making your threads look good. If selling a runescape account, you would have to include pictures of the account, therefore pictures are very important to make more people feel that you are a more professional person. If you would like to see a great looking thread that uses images to very effectively, look at Skele_Master's PIN Shop's thread: http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=664867

I cannot explain every little detail to making a good thread, you must do it yourself really, because it depends on what you want to do with the thread an how you want it to look. Although, I hope this guide did help you a bit, and that it wasn't too wordy, it was hard not to use a little too much text with this guide. Please leave any feedback that you may have!

Actually, I used several. Just in the form of words. These effect your threads too. But, the reason why I didn't use more pictures for this guide is because it is not a service thread and this guide didn't NEED a ton of pictures.
