We had like a 2 hour long conversation over the phone, and she agrees that America needs a civil war and a revolution to destroy our current system of government, and that we need to establish a new system of life and liberty.

Usually, she's always on the fence on these matters, and usually just goes with the flow, but this time she was all on-board for it .

 

Now you just have to get her to try it (Assuming she hasn't already? >.>)

Also, were you high while talking to her? I sure as hell couldn't sit on the phone discussing government issues for two hours without toking up on something.

 

Nah, I just hadn't talked to her for several weeks. I don't smoke mate , and she doesn't either (hasn't for decades).

Hey man what the fuck. I know tons of parents/older people in my town that are in their 20s,30s,40s, and even 50s around my town that smoke and they are not hookers, strippers, or mental.

 

Nope. She's unemployed, and physically disabled. And like... 48... So, she's almost 2 generations past. . Which is why it's intriguing that she would agree with me. Most people from that generation are usually not so accepting of such 'radical' ideas.

Even though a lot of them remember prohibition .

Talked about the fact that the government has no right to control the acts of the individual.

She agreed that cocaine, heroin, and such should be legalized as well. I don't think meth should be legal, because the making of meth is very dangerous, she agreed with that... but any drugs that pose no risk to others we agreed should be legalized.

Just because I don't smoke doesn't mean I can't try to get my government to stop policing it. I don't smoke from professional choices, but I have no problem with marijuana. No reason not to support the legalization of it...

It is too! She's usually against the using of drugs, but she's finally seen the libertarian light. Lol.

 

Hehe, it's always fun "convincing" your parents, but then again, I'm not a big fan of the whole "legalizing marijuana" bit.

I know most your (-as in the people that support it) arguments is that it's not dangerous and it doesn't harm (except the smoke that goes down the lungs, even though most of them don't even believe that it does that either. (tar)), but it smells uterly crap.

I couldn't careless if people smoke it, as long as it's not in the public.

But the way most of the "pot heads" act on this forum, they sure seem fucked up, and it's not like you want them around in your everyday life.

 

My reason for defending it is as follows:

1. It's not my life. I'm not going to be smoking it, but others will. I don't see a reason to stop people from doing with their lives as they want. Simple as that.

2. Though some of the drugs I'd like to see legalized are dangerous to a person's health, it's that person's choice. If I'm not paying for their fuckups, I don't care that they do it. (non-violent crimes, prostitution, drugs, etc).

3. The amount of people who would start weed farms would help boost the economy so much it's not even funny. Thousands of jobs would be created OVER NIGHT, and in 1 day our economy would go from going down, to going up.

4. The amount of money not spent on imprisoning people, pursuing people, etc would save a lot of money. A lot of cops would be out of jobs, but they can get jobs elsewhere. We don't need such a large police force... it's not necessary.
