Kadaj's Second Guide: How to add emoticons to your MSN

Step 1:

Get the emote you would like to add to your MSN. In this case, I am using jCashs dancing milk.



Step 2:

Go to your MSN and click the drop down which is underneath your inbox button. You should see a drop down like this:



Step 3:

Hover over Tools and then select Emoticons.



Step 4:

You should then see something similar to the picture below. Then click the button Create.



Step 5:

Now, you will have to find your image to upload, so click Find Image. Select the image you would like to use as your emoticon.



Step 6:

For the next step, you need to create the shortcut to your emoticon, this can be whatever you like, I'm going to use dmilk.



Step 7:

Now to name your emoticon, again this can be whatever you like, I'm going to use dancingmilk.



Step 8:

Then click Ok, then you can use your emoticon. Type your shortcut on a MSN chat, and it should appear.

Simple guide. This is common knowledge for most people.

-You may wanna add a link in there showing people where they can get emoticons.

-You could also tell people how to steal emoticons that other people use when they talk to you.

-You could tell people how to change the shortcut key in case they don't like the shortcut they made because sometimes shortcuts get annoying.



Anyway, overall, this guide is common sense and a whole guide wasn't needed for this; you could have just told them to find the image on the computer after they click create, you didn't need to make pictures to show people how to do that; it's basic knowledge.

 

I'm sorry Fatih, because all your guides are actually so indetail and nobody knows how to do them. I could almost guarantee not everyone knew how to do this.

 

I'm sure most people know how to click "browse" and find a picture on their computer. The beginning of the guide, maybe not as much.

Some people may not know how to.

 

I know of a lot of people who don't know how to do this. Namely, people who don't use Windows Live Messenger.

The only problem I have with this is image shrinkage. Whenever I make an emote, they always end up really really small. Such as my 10x10 emote of Boxxy.

 

By default MSN's emotes are tiny. Certain filesizes may yield larger emotes, or you can use a different chat client.
