Technically we have politically imperialized Iraq, and Afghanistan.

    Imperialism

America imperialised the whole Middle East ages ago. American companies have had control of the majority of oil reserves there for a long time. Imperialism isn't just about armies and invasions.

You could also argue that America uses cultural imperialism across the globe. Many countries' traditional beliefs and practices are being eroded by the American system. This is all in the name of increased profits for American companies of course.

That being said, I don't think it's unethical. It's just the way capitalism works.

    Imperialism is three parts

    Economic, Political, Military
    All three

    It's unethical
    It's racist

lolno. Imperialism in the 18th century may have involved all three. Modern imperialism works differently.

Also, why start a thread if you're just going to say in the second post that it's unethical and racist with absolutely no justification

Can you elaborate on the differences between 18th century imperialism, and modern day?

We assume that the Iraqi government is incapable of taking care of themselves. Kinda racist. So we take the burden of improving their society upon ourselves. Read the white man's burden that get back to me.

Do you think America really wants to improve their society? Is that what you think the war was about?

Most of your posts involve you quoting some article or theory that you have completely misunderstood, then sending me abusive pms when you realise it.

If you knew anything, you'd know they were invaded for oil, and money mostly. With the excuse of terrorism threats, and nuclear threats. Always comes down to money, and america/uk wanting to sustain there ' rich lifestyle and society '

This is racism. or social darwinism, or classism, or elitism. DOESNT MATTER
Believing that the government and people of a country are incapable of taking care of themselves is racist.

    He claimed it.
Racism is the belief that members of each race possess characteristics individual to that race.

It was one pm, when you made ridiculous claims, based on ignorance, and fear, about gay marriage. I am the one who sourced my arguments, and i will source this one if need be. You pulled numbers out of your ass.

To your standards, perhaps. Using Soviet Russia as an example, Russians revere strong, authoritarian leaders. Stalin is the third most popular Russian leader in history, and, in Russia today, there is still a very strong authoritiarian vibe. In Western culture, this is highly undesirable, but Russians perceive it differently. This demonstrates that people individually have different standards of what is desirable and what ''taking care of themselves'' constitutes.

Whoa shit he is? I lol'd. But yeah values differ. Arabic Muslims in the sudan love their leader, but we detest him for committing genocide.
Back to the point. Have we imperialized Iraq and Afghanistan?
