Should homosexuals have the right to get married?

I don't see nothing wrong with homosexuality.

For people who saying homosexuals have sex with animals and children.. Please stfu. I hear more heterosexuals on the news doing this shit than anything else.

Religion says homosexuality is wrong.. It also says that, beating the meat is a sin, I wonder how many people going to hell for that one. (source; The Bible). Also can we have a good debate without dragging religion into it?

But yeah.. I think people should marry who thay want as long as they love each other. Love is blind.

Don't twist my words around. Heterosexuality, homosexuality and bisexuality is fine, love is love.

Should homosexuals have the right to get married?

About 97% of the world's population is heterosexual, so I am not surprised.

You need to think in terms of proportion rather than absolute numbers.

There's a lot more than 3% of the population. I'm sorry I don't pull stats out my magical hat.

Many morals come from religion. Also, since marriage originated as a, and still is, a religious ritual, it is only natural that one should bring religion into the debate.

pretty much 1/10 people have had a gay experience. How is that not pretty normal?
    http://www.avert.org/gay-people.htm

    That was in 2000
Even higher now. Who considers it abnormal? You're priests to busy raping young boys?

Should homosexuals have the right to get married?

The majority of studies and surveys in recent years have all been around the 3% mark for homosexuality. So no, I didn't pull the figures out of a magical hat. You can find these surveys simply by using google, so I'm not going to references them all here for you.

Of course the percentage is higher in cities like San Francisco, so if you live in a place like that your view of the prevalence of homosexuality will be skewed. The extremely high coverage of gay issues in the media also tends to give the impression that homosexuality is more widespread than it actually is.

The statistics shown on that site are far from 1/10. Learn to interpret data properly.

It shows 8% for "have you ever had any genital contact with another man"
    and
2.5% for "had a same-sex partner within the last 5 years"

The genital contact with another man figure is purely for the purposes of AIDS awareness. The site is trying to make people aware of the risks of HIV/AIDS after all.

The 2.5% same sex partner figure more accurately reflects the percentage of homosexuals.

Should homosexuals have the right to get married?

The number of LGB persons in the U.S. is subjective. Studies pointing to the statistics are estimates at best. The most widely accepted statistic is that 1 in ever 10 individuals is LGB; however research shows that the number may be more like 1 in 20.

a sexual orientation law and public policy think tank, estimates that there are 8.8 million gay, lesbian, and bisexual persons in the U.S based on the 2005/2006 American Community Survey, an extension of the U.S. Census (Gary J. Gates, 2006, "Same-Sex Couples and the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual Population: New Estimates from the American Community Survey").

Thats still at least 9 Million people. Thats 3 million more then in america, and 4 million more then in israel. So really is 10 million people out of 300 million being "abnormal"
Not to mention the people that support gay rights.

What about people in the closet? What about former Gays?

I never claimed they were my own?
    website is http://gaylife.about.com/od/comingout/a/population.htm

    Thanks
    Honestly last post was offtopic.
I just called you a ignorant douchebag
    and a cypto nazi.
The jewish population numbers were from wikipedia. It is not the best, but i went through, and checked for tampering (looked at previous versions)

So please, Gay people are a minority, so are African Americans, Asians, Hispanics, Irish, ETC ETC ETC

So would listening to Kenny G while you fornicate be taken as perverted just because it is abnormal.

Should homosexuals have the right to get married?

No, that "logic" is completely flawed.

We are not talking about American political minorities, we are talking about global sexual minorities.

What music you listen to is irrelevant, it has nothing to do with sexual practices.

Should homosexuals have the right to get married?

We've all worked our way off topic here, the sexual practice two consenting adults experience is irrelevant to the debate of whether a loving homosexual partnership should be legally recognised as a marriage.
