[Denied] % of donations/sponsors to go to community refund/advertisement?

I understand donations are used towards upkeep of site & other adult things but what if a small percentage is used towards community refund each month OR advertisement to bring new consumers to Sythe?

Could be a benefit to have 'sponsor' channels on discord in which up to a set amount (let's say 3 for example) of discord servers or Sythe threads (if we want to combat the whole overrun of discord servers) could be advertised per month. Obviously keeping this within 3 to 5 spots so it is not 'overrun/spammy'. This is additional $ per month that could go strictly to community refund or advertisement for Sythe.

Something as simple as:

Advertisement suggestions:
- Sponsor NH tournaments that streamers host
- Giveaways in bigger discords/Facebook pages/etc hosted by Sythe.org
- Auto-spam bots in game at Lumbridge, GE, LMS, etc (sounds cheesy but it works)

wouldnt really say. this is community suggestion but more like suggestion to richard himself considering he is the only one in charge for banner/donnor funds

yeah - I thought maybe the second option would be good as there could technically be someone in a discord server that can allow a creation of a sponsor and give someone a sponsor rank to post for the month in. Obviously there would be set rules/etc but these are new funds that can assist with community repayment (maybe even other things as well like advertisement/etc).

I think option #2 is great and would work, but I'm not sure the powers that be would agree to have the funds be sent to CR.

I do not believe more money should go into community repayment. Sorry for your losses, but there is already a system in place. More money should go into upkeep, advertising, and recruiting. Spend money to make money.

We already have the website filled with advertisement banners (that I misclick every day), so I do not see a problem adding a room or two on discord for advertisements! I would hope the money goes to good use.

Guys, Matthew and Sythe have long gone, in terms of adding or facilitating any further updates for this webstie. The concept of forums are antiquated, and it's highly unlikely any $, or time, will be given to changing this website. I don't say that with any animosity towards either Richo or Matthew, as their decision is the most logical and financially sound one to make.

I'm not sure @Sythe or @Matthew are anywhere near as active on here as they used to be years ago, so whatever is keeping the site running is mostly going to be donations (unless they are still funding a large portion of it out of their own pocket after all these years).

I would say the current system works well enough, a "donation" to the site is intended to support the site and keep things running.

Not really but there are multiple reasons, but one of them for example is open to abuse it is.

I can agree with that - I’d even pivot the idea to be more for funds used towards advertising. Such as $50/mo per sponsor channel in discord x 5 = $250/mo

Lets say that could be used to advertise in big MMO discords as a sponsor, sponsor/host an NH tourney (or other tourney/events), pay for autospammers in Lumb/GE (in mass/bulk these would likely work although it sounds cheesy), & I’m sure there’s other scenarios on advertisement.

normally i'd say that a small percentage going to comm repayment wouldn't be an awful idea, but we've had some VERY generous donors to the community repayment fund ESPECIALLY in the last 2 or so years. Plus, Richard still needs to eat.

Donations and the sale of advertisements help keep the site running, there isn't really any need to divert a portion to community repayment.

People are also free to donate directly to the community repayment fund if they wish to do so.
