Gaming PC Components - Good or Not?

Are the components below good for their price/performance? Will these components make a good (powerful) gaming PC, running Windows 7 Home Premium?

Any help would be much appreicated.

 

It seems alright, the RAM might be a bit expensive. I'm not familiar with GBP though, so give me a sec and I'll convert the currency.

EDIT: It seems the components are pretty expensive. I can get the processor for about 30 USD cheaper, and the RAM for about 40 USD cheaper.

 

The thing is, over here in the UK everything is a lot more expensive. If I were to buy from say Tigerdirect or Newegg (US sites) and send them over to the UK, it's going to cost a bomb to send it over plus there is a large chance some of the components get damaged.

So either way, buying in the UK or abroad, the cost is going to be the same.

I just want to know if this is powerful for the price really.

 

It's a great setup if it weren't for the high prices. I checked out some other UK sites and they seem a little over the average, but nothing too drastic in comparison. To be honest, if you bought from US sites, there's not a huge chance of DOA components due to poor handling, and if you bought it all at once shipping might not be too bad.

 

I've just done a comparison of Overclockers to Newegg for exactly the same components. I've figured out that with Newegg I could save around £150($250)!

Perhaps it wouldn't be too bad to ship then, since I'm saving quite a bit.

However, I've been wondering - since the voltage from an electricity outlet in the UK is at a different voltage to the voltage in the US (UK: 230V, US: 120V?) will it effect any of the components in any way (especially the PSU)?

Plus, if I bought Windows 7 from the US, would it be any different to the UK's?

 

There shouldn't be a difference. The only thing I can think of is your PSU not receiving power due to the voltage difference, and in that case you would either need an adapter or just get a PSU from a UK site. I doubt that's the case.

As for Windows 7, I don't believe there's a difference since you can change language and region settings.

 

I believe there is a switch somewhere on the PSU that allows you to switch the voltage for different countries. I'm not sure about other components, but I would assume you would be fine.

I've emailed Overclockers UK to see if they can get anything off the price. I've figured that it will be so much easier if anything were to go wrong (need to return parts etc.) as the shipping charges will be small.

However, if I can't get much off the price I'll probably go with Newegg.
