    Profile Vouches... Sythe, seriously?

Seriously Sythe, get your shit together. It's been over 4 years since I have been, and there is still no good tracking system for black market trades. Profile vouches? Are you kidding me? How am I supposed to know if those are legitimate or not. What's stopping me from making some up and putting them in my profile? Are mods looking over them and verifying their legitimacy? I highly doubt it.

How hard is it to set up a side website such as:

Example A: Namepros (Buying and selling internet domains - very easy to get scammed just like here as these are virtual transactions)

Example B: Heatware (Buying and of computer hardware off various forums - look how easy it is to maintain your history - who would have ever thought! Computer hardware - not too susceptible to scam since it involves actual shipping, but it isn't unheard of people to get dead hardware, or boxes containing a brick.)

Now, while yes things like the above can be faked (friends giving friends fake feedback) you can still see who they traded with (scammers never have a high feedback score) and what type of position they held in trade (buyer/seller, first/second). Not to mention, these types of mods are EASY to setup. How easy? Well, the Namepros example is just a downloaded free/bought forum mod, and the Heatware example is a simple database driven website (anyone who knows basic PHP/MySQL knows of just how "simple" the coding for such a website really is). If you think I'm talking out my ass, I'd be willing to code a website just like Heatware, for the purpose of this black market. Why not? Seems like a great web developement opportunity which I could profit from.

Just because someone made 5 trades with some mod as the buyer who was required to go first, and now this player expects ME to go first as the seller because of those trades is a bunch of a bullshit. Sythe, get your shit together, get real here, and let's make this a really legitimate website to do MMO gold/item trading. Because we all know the reputation Sythe has...

I left 4 years ago because Sythe became a hellhole of scammers, and just because RWT has declined significantly and in direct relation the number of scammers has decreased - they are still out there. I'm on the verge of leaving again because this profile vouch system is just retarded. I know it, you know it, so please do something about it.

support. This would organize the looks of the players vouches, and help people know more with who are they dealing.

    Theres a vouch thread...

And if you make them up.. ANYONE can click your "vouches" and see if its legit or not.

If its fake.. they report it, they usually get banned fairly fast seeing as its a lot easier to handle than a report for scamming.

The current system is fine.. that just complicates stuff.

And 99% of ppl who make "fake vouches" or "Self voucH" usually either have no vouches, or only a couple.. So it's pretty easy to catch them

*Cough* Thats what middle mans are for *cough*

Edit.. I read a little more of your post.. Just X out now lol.. Vouches are easy to fake on any site aswell.. Mods can check IPs on accounts of stuff that looks suspicious like 1 post or 2 posts and a vouch.

Mining, you have been a member for one month. I have been a member since 2005. I have a lot of trading that I did back then, which is now all lost because there is no good vouch tracking system here. I actually removed some vouches I had from 2005 because those threads, and maybe even those users I traded with no longer exist.

And about faking vouches, yes I mentioned that. But then I also followed up on that. And do you really think mods are checking up on every single vouch? And about faking vouches, then the professional websites that I mentioned above, that get anywhere from 10-100x the traffic Sythe gets, would have shut down their trade tracking systems a long time ago. Obviously they have to be checked up on, but the sake of everyone, and even those mods who do check up on vouches - it would be much, much easier for them to do so.

And yes, OMMs are available - at their own convenience.

I have absolutely NO PROBLEM making trades on the websites with the two examples I provided above. Here, it's ridiculous. This current system now is, simply put - a waste of time. Instead of wasting hours I'd be wasting minutes if we had a decent system in place. With one click, I could see all the information I could possibly need about anyone in question. I for one don't have my head stuck so far up my ass as to believe all vouches are equal, which seems to be the implication when users say they have "x amount of vouches".

Sythe can only get better with a good system... I'm sorry I came off as harsh in my original post, but it's been over 4 years (plus whatever time Sythe existed before I registered myself).

You can't just say support and have no reason to actually support this reason. People would just make more accounts and "vouch" themselves.

As for people going first due to vouches from mods: Use a middleman...

We all know this site won't get rid of scammers, no matter what we do. Just look for legitimacy in the vouches and you won't have a problem. (with a trusted MM of course)

I don't fully trust this idea. I'm not really sure how else to support my opinion.

I support this. I would also reccomend something like a elite trading system, where you pay a small fee to be in and you give all of your personal information and that it is verified. So when someone scams you in this section you can easily contact police ect. and get them arrested/fined for theft.

I don't support. I don't want negative feedback for not going first to someone. You know that this would be abused, and people would make many accounts and just boost themselves up to positive feedback.

It is not that hard to see if people are trusted or not. Look at your vouches, it is very easy to see if they are real or fake. Or use a MM, there here for a reason.

The Sythe community isn't as big as you think it is, if you have been here long enough you get a really good idea of who is legit is who isnt. Im talking about the people you always see in the different threads being active. Getting scammed is so simple because people just dont think.
