    Why do people get banned?
It clearly states in the rules that they can not come back as a different account.

SO, why don't you automatically IP-ban them? Seriously, I see no point... you're giving them a chance to ban evade.

Because they should still have the right to appeal their ban. I agree that if it comes down to a definite no, and a person is never allowed to return, they should be IP banned. (especially in the case of a scammer)

But, those people still generate traffic, and view the ads, so they're not all bad.

That's why there's a "contact admin" button on the banned screen... don't need to be un-IP banned to click that button...

You do realize an IP ban makes it so you can't connect to the server, correct? Which means you'd have to proxy... and most proxies are blocked from accessing the server.

So yes, you do need to be un-IP banned to click that button.

And the dispute forum exists for a reason. Notice the 'Dispute a Ban' section.

That is correct, you cannot access the server.
HOWEVER, the contact an admin button does not lead you to the server, but a completely different place where you contact the admin and do not access www.sythe.org

Where is this contact an admin button? As far as I know, Sythe only runs Sythe.org for Sythe.org services.

Not to mention, the admins don't need to be bombarded with tons of users requesting an unban. These messages, I'm guessing, are sent directly to Sythe, and I promise you that he has no desire to deal with a bunch of banned users.

IP bans are usually reserved for very dangerous scammers, and for people who have ban evaded multiple times/had multiple offences on their accounts.

When I was IP banned, I had to get someone from the IRC to get ahold of someone, and post my request to be un-ip banned. There was no button, merely a 'cannot connect' screen...

You do realise changing your IP is as simple as turning off your router.

False. The contact an admin button sends an e-mail/message to the admin, NOT involving any Sythe.org features.
If the guy was hacked, then the hacker's IP is banned..
Are you retarded? This is only in the case where you have dynamic IP-s. If you have a static IP, like most people, you can not change the IP even if you call the provider and ask them, unless you get a completely new connection.

Not hard to get a dynamic IP, most houses in Australia have them.

Yes, but you made the false claim that most people on Sythe have static IPs. Correct me if I'm wrong, but most users are from the United States, and most ISPs in the US provide dynamic IPs.

You have used 143 distinct IP's.

While we used to ban IP's - and in theory, still do - it's a wasted effort unless the user has a static IP. If we banned ranges for every user that gets banned on this site, no one would be able to access it >.>
