The Existence of God

To clarify my statement: Yes, I think anything that is believed in without even the slightest sliver of evidence or even good theory is a stupid opinion.

Man, did you even read what I said? I said specifically the atheists like that, and included that many theists are like that too!

 

It's really all in Belief, and time period. If you choose to believe there is a god, well no one is gonna take that. But Do recall, that in WII There were two major Dictators. Adolf Hitler, and Joseph Stalin. Now The reason this relates to your question, is because I find religion very similar to this.

When Stalin was in power, He was sending people to work-camps, called Gulags. Once there, the people were literally worked to death. Stalin would kill anyone who said one negative thing about him, he slaughtered tons of Polish people. But at the very same time this was happening, a good portion of the people in Russia were praising Stalin. Saying he was all-mighty, all-knowing, he was GOD, he was always right.

Take their beliefs on Stalin, and place them on peoples' belief on god.
God = All mighty, all knowing, always right.

Same thing with Hitler. Sure, he's killing 60-Million Jews, and Sure, he's insane. But hey, he's all knowing, and is just trying to help purify the world for us... So he must be god.

He explains his plan in his Book, Mein Kompf. -I've read it twice, and you really honestly begin to understand how dark this man was- His plan for the Jews, and his plan for New Germany. People BOWED DOWN, and LOVED both these men.

At these time periods, these were the main beliefs to follow. These were the RIGHT ones. Hitler killed the Jews BECAUSE of their Religion... (and their looks and descendants.)

In the bible it says "A slave must obey his master" .... Slaves in the book that is Holy?

During the Industrial Revolution, slave were a HUGE part of Southern Americans. This Also was a big belief back then, No one disbelieved in using slaves. They were making the country SO much money. And when Eli Whitney Made the cotton gin, slaves were more popular that ever. Price of a younger male slave (ages from: 16-30) before the cotton gin: 300$'s.
After the Cotton Gin: 1000-1200.


So, if all people are created Equal, and we are all loved the same by God why Did Stalin Succeed in Slaughtering all the people he did?
Why did Hitler Succeed in taking down 60 Million + people?
Why did we have slavery for a Good chunk of time? . . . . .


Well, Regardless what I say. Your belief probably won't change. But if you ask me, we have more than enough proof to show that God/Lord doesn't exist.

 

Logical fallacy, you cannot disprove something that doesn't exist.

 

You can, however, pull the side of rationality to the 'fact' that whatever doesn't exist, really doesn't exist.

If you have that, you are supported by some form of logic, and it doesn't matter whether or not you can prove/disprove it's existence.

 

Our bodies are constructed by millions/billions of atoms that can live with certain conditions, take bacteria or something along those lines for example, some live in the Earth's core with the intense heat. I think our god is Earth itself, and the sun. We just happen to be created. I'm thinking that nothing can live without some sort of oxygen, except anaerobic bacteria and plants because they photosynthesize. I am a Christian too, I believe in god, but I have some of my own theories. Also, if there really is a god, then life is just a test, nothing more. If it wasn't, then no one would be suffering.

 

Please, explain to me how life being a test and the unwilling suffering of others is related.

 

There's no explanation for it, why else would we live? For the hell of it? To be tortured by god? God might be putting us through a test, going through good and bad.

Exactly. George Lucas, J. R. R. Tolkien, J. K. Rowling, etc. Brilliant people, but very creative, unrealistic imaginations. Theists tend to have the most fascinating imaginations, tbh.

By reading all your guys posts I can tell 90% of this forum is full on unintelligent people who don't care about anyone and are selfish.

What, you want a list of names? Anybody or any belief that embodies those characteristics.

 

I would theorize that nearly 90% of us have been saved by Shredderbeam, or another rational Atheist, and thus you are therefore implying that we, the Atheists, are unintelligent and selfish?

1. We are no more selfish than a person who desires to get into heaven. You cannot prove that what you're doing is not merely a selfish act to make your God like you, and allow you into his house. Nor can you prove that you're not just avoiding hell.

2. We don't believe in heaven, or hell, yet most of us are kind, considerate people who wouldn't harm a fly. Which is not something Christianity or any other religion can say. If it's intelligent to be violent and kill people who don't think the same as me, I'd rather be an idiot.

3. You're basically saying that since we don't believe in an all powerful being, who can create something from nothing, and be omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent in an infinite vacuum of space... we're the unintelligent ones?

4. If your point is true, then the major religions will always rule this world, and humanity is damned. You'll all kill each other, only to shockingly find out everything you randomly believe in isn't true.

The only argue Christianity has against us is 'oh, lol ur life is boring and has no meaning'. Well guess fucking what, neither does yours.

Well, they're more like theories then beliefs. I have a big book of them that I wrote.

For some reason I get really odd dreams of certain things happening, discoveries, etc. And whenever I wake up I try to remember them and write it down.

I'll share a few later, they're really long but I'll try to shorten them up.

 

As I said in another post, and I hope this kind of helps you, our brains make tons of decisions based on our senses. How we perceive, and react to those, is different for every person. It's the difference between logic, and emotion.

Dreams are rational as they come from your brain, and though some of them are probably pointless, they all reflect a thought, or decision your brain has previously made.

So your brain's decisions, though plausible, should not be perceived as factual or valid. Before you base your beliefs on them, research them some .
