Summary
Anarchise sells premium plugins for the OpenOSRS client. It was discovered that the majority of his plugins were actually just copy-pasted from free, open source plugins with their name changed and a price tag slapped on. When confronted, anarchise released a handful of plugins for free instead but claimed that the remaining ones were their own yet it is likely that this is false.

Notes
At the very least the users who paid for the open source plugins should be refunded.

Ideally, anarchise should have to submit his premium plugin source for review to be compared with open source materials and ensure it is his work that he's selling.

In my opinion it's okay to take snippets, inspiration etc from open source work and use it (credited) in your own commercial work (if the licensing allows it), but only as long as the majority of the work is yours.
If you've simply "added a few features" it should remain open source and free.

Ben agreed there was no issue over the situation because he was fully credited throughout, the plugin was left in his name with him as the provider. Which is why it only went open sourced. I would show proof but I was banned over personal beef with hothead Jim.

Both Vorkath and Zulrah plugin have only slight similarities because only very small snippets have been used. At least 90% of both of those plugins are written by me.

The only plugin which i will hands down admit was copy and pasted was the Skiller plugin, however this plugin has been free and open sourced since day one. I did also admit this to illumine directly as you can see

Or was his name left in the inner details because you forgot to change them? Why bother changing the displayed plugin name to "APKer" if you intended to credit him and leave his name on? You only credited after being called out, and edited the announcement message.

Only one function used in vorkath that is copied directly from another source code, calculateAcidFreePath, which to be exact is 104 lines of code, even counting the empty ones. Vorkath source code has over 1500 lines total. That totals a lot less than 10%.

ASkiller being loaded in there was literally nothing more than a mistake when copying the jars to the server, you're welcome to ask if any of the members have ever paid for the skiller plugin & I guarantee none of them have

 

Just to fully clarify, there are 14 total plugins in our server. Only ONE if these were created and sold on from somebody else’s work (the PKer plugin as originally mentioned) however Ben was happy I had made enough of my own additions to the source code. Regardless of this I decided to still make the plugin free anyway to cure any sour tastes it may have left behind. The rest of the plugins are ALL written, at least 90-95% by myself.

if a member of the forum staff truly does wish to brush over and verify the source codes of the plugins which remain closed source, I’d be happy to show it

What about the plugins you’ve stolen and sold without a refund Mike? I guarantee majority of your current premium plugins are written from the open sourced archived plugins by illumine, and the other developers' plugins from that server. seems very strange for you to sit and call me out for something like this when you’ve very clearly done the exact same thing yourself. I can provide more proof via message that Mike has re-used code himself however the person who sent it to me would like it kept private

Baseless - you're essentially saying because two people make a plugin they must be the same. Please provide evidence if you're going to make this claim.

Difference is mine was free and disclosed from day 1 that it was on a base, it was also taken down entirely not long after opening and I even handed the additional features over to El so that he could release them himself.

Like I said before taking snippets is ok but literally 1-to-1 copying like you are is not. Stop trying to avoid the accusations, grow a pair and refund your customers.

 

Your evidence even proves I only used snippets and nothing more. Comparative to the total code of the plugins, there is nothing there to speak of at all, which as I have previously mentioned I'm happy to even prove to forum staff
