Safest way to buy GP (Jan 2022)?

Hi all, so I bought around 900M in total over the last 3 weeks, and last week I got a warning message from Jagex about RWT, saying I could be banned temporarily or permanently if they detect it again.

I’ve read they’re cracking down on buyers now, which sucks.. Has anyone else had these warnings and still traded, if so have you been banned?

Looking to buy another couple of billion in the next month or so, but don’t want to risk my main. Does anyone know the safest method to transfer the GP, maybe via an alt?

 

It doesn't matter, it's traceable however you do it. Doing it on your main is the best way but still can be banned. It isn't worth the risk if you care about your account.

 

If only bonds gave a more reasonable GP/$ lol. Well, I’d rather be cash strapped than lose my account I suppose

 

I would not keep doing it on accounts that you care about. However, even buying it on a mule, then trading to your main doesn't matter, it's all traceable.

I think it's safe to say the majority of us have gotten the message, and will keep buying/selling GP

 

I just can’t risk a per, ban after this warning, even if it means I’m poor!!

What I may try is buying on an alt, waiting a couple of months and then transferring to my main. I’d probs get the same message into my alt’s inbox.

But any ban on my main might be more defensible if I can prove both accounts are mine and they don’t notice the prior warning (since it doesn’t go in your account status page), hence the couple of months delay…

Still, it probably wouldn’t work and would still be traced to my main. We’re all just guessing as we don’t really know what they look at.

 

Knock on wood, I never had a problem with trading items, then selling those items whenever I needed cash. However, I never was buying bills at a time, which you are planning on doing.

I think I’ll try that then - I’ll buy 1-2 billion onto my alt, and wait a few weeks to see what happens. Hopefully Jamflex don’t remove it!!

 

Did you just trade it over? My guess is that standard trades between certain farmer accounts and mule accounts with different IPs would trigger an alert, especially for such a large amount.

Is there any data or research to show that drop trading or PKing cash is a safer method?

 

I’ve looked all over the internet and I can’t find any insights into what Jagex actually look at, it’s all just guesswork I think. Large gold sellers try different methods to protect their mules, and from what I’ve read they tend to find a method that works, but then it seems to change again overnight. So not only is it totally opaque but it’s also a moving target unfortunately!

Maybe someone on these forums might have more insider info though..

 

I have been in the RWTing business for years so hopefully i can clear up some misconceptions. I only had a RWT ban once and it was on a account i was trading 10-20b+ on daily.

The way i do my trades are:
1) Always with high level combat accounts
2) Always on the same ip address that you are normally playing on

RWTing is super easy, you want to hide your RWT'ing activities where it is the least obvious from the point of view of Jagex that the trade was indeed a RWT.

So that means:
1) Avoid trading proxies/VPN's (these can be flagged for previous RWT offences) plus jagex sees a irregular high trade together with a change of ip adress = highly suspicious
2) avoid drop trading, tip-jar, pking-method < all these methods are kind of asking for a RWT ban unless you make it seem like a pking deathmatch but then still imo it will be best to just trade over the gold
3) avoid trading on low-level combat accounts. Does a level 20 combat account receiving 500m look like a normal activity to you? This also means avoid trading alts. If you use a alt to receive the trade and then transfer it to your main its an obvious RWT.

Follow these methods and you will for sure be safe trading <1b a day.

- buy from a smaller seller (avoid big common sites imo)
- fake a risk fight (seller dies to u on purpose)
