When will Mars be Colonized?

NASA or some other space program will probably talk about it forever until everyone dies and they're no longer responsible for it x)

 

America wouldn't make Mars off limits to every other country in the World. Everybody would Nuke us rofl. They'd probably set up a mission to destroy Mars

 

I'm sure it'll happen eventually, but when?

Thank you very much. Finally someone who appreciates a country being able to do something better than "Ol' Great US." Anyway, if people were to transfer the needed stuff from Mars to Earth.. It would just outweigh any purpose of leaving Earth, especially as it would create so much gasshouse gases to transfer the equipment to Mars.

 

It's not like this isn't possible. Yes it is possible however it would cost a lot of money. Like an above poster said, people would have to live in "bubbles" or in buildings, no only because there is a need for oxygen but it is very cold on mars. There would also be a need to transfer a lot of food, water, supplies which would take a lot of effort over such a long distance.

 

Mars alone can't sustain life, but wasn't there a plan to start building an atmosphere similar to Earth's?
Also, is the bio-dome typed thing really that far fetched? I mean, logically it sounds ridiculous but a big bubble with trees and animals and shit could possibly hold life?
