    I see under User Services > Account Upgrades that there are notable, trustworthy individuals promoting discounted memberships. I'm very intrigued by this, but it seems almost too good to be true. Can someone please shine some light on this?

    it's pretty much like buying the old game topups, just on a different mostly-poorer country. such memberships existed since forever; if I remember correctly one kind of membership pin I used years and years ago was called SurfPins or something.
