That's actually not that bad. Are you using photoshop?
I would try to fix the text a little.
Remove the things on the left and right side, they don't look good.
Other then that, It doesn't look too bad .

colours are bloody awful - tone down the contrast, and try to match the text style to the background.

It looks like you took somebody's background and did small changes, put on some text, and called it your own. You should work on the contrast levels as said, and the text is horrible. I know it's a first, but, reading tutorials always helps. Check planet renders for some free tutorials if you really need them.
