Hey, how do you think your school system is doing? Good? Bad? Or just SUCK?

Mine, being in Hawaii, is small, so they SHARE busses, and everything else...
    But the education is GREAT.

My school system is good, being in the top secondary school in Singapore, but the standard is really high.

My school is just the average high-school, if you want higher education there is college and university 10 mins away.

    School Systems?

Is fucked up the last year. You have 5 math courses, all of which you have to memorize a bunch of formulas, and 3 science courses.

Mines sucky-average. It's a charter school, so the funding blowz, but the education isn't half bad.

Got the average suburbia high school here. Nothing too special, just get good marks until you need to apply for college/university.

Mine blows, we have like no funding, the teachers are just there (they don't care whether you learn something or not), and it's pretty rundown.
    Other than that, it's alright.

School is a big failure everywhere you go. Everyone learns in different ways and at a different pace, so putting everyone in the same room all listening to the same person is retarded. Learning should be a voluntary thing, how it was before school. People learned out of interest/necessity. Also, there's not enough logistics/philosophy classes, you know, shit that make you actually think. This is why you have really smart people in science fields that have no clue how to act around people and have fucked up ethics.

Lol, it's all you can expect from a Public school. It's mind numbing and crushes any creativity/curiosity that children naturally have.

The main reason the Public School system fails, is because they don't have to do anything to keep their customers. Their customers can't go away to another competitor. Government thugs steal the income.. there isn't any reason for them to improve. There is no incentive to have competent teachers. There isn't any incentive to do shit.

Well, why don't children just go to private schools? And what? Pay twice? Pay for both Public and Private education? Most of us are not fortunate enough to pay for twice for the same damn thing. Effectively, I am FORCED to attend Public Schools. I can either go to their schools or have my parents arrested and sent to their rape rooms.

There is no choice. There is no Volunteerism. You can't choose to go to a school that provides strict structure. You can't choose to go to a school that provides a place where you can fine-tune your (insert ANYTHING) skills. What you get is a fucking standardized manure-heap that is designated to suit EVERYONE, but just lowers standards down to continue the cycle of fresh cash.

    School Systems?

I go to QSI, an international school in Georgia (not the state, dumbass... yes you). Its $18 grand a year here, and I'm in 10th grade. I get a full since I'm Georgian (I know, right?) and maintain a GPA above 3.70. And no, it's not as easy as shit. The school is accredited to the highest standard, etc. For one single A, you must CONSISTENTLY show your above-mastery knowledge of the material and higher-level thinking that average students. In 9th grade, I ended up with 3.71, and came out the second highest in the school (even though there's only 150 students).

Being tough as shit isn't a bad thing, I appreciate it. I mean, I'd rather work my ass off and learn all this bullshit rather than sulk, play video games all day and then be an unemployed, illiterate person nobody respects living with parents at the age of 40. And the college opportunities I get here are probably one of the best in all of Asia... given the fact that the Georgian government gives 100% scholarships to anyone who gets accepted to any U.S. college.

Do you honestly think those are your only options? Go to school or be a failure? What about using your free time to learn skills that are actually useful in the real world? Programming, webdesign, starting a business, recording music, etc. Most of the richest people in the world said fuck school, dropped out and went on to do whatever they wanted, this includes Bill Gates, Albert Einstein, Steve Jobs, Thomas Edison, Michael Dell, Henry Ford, Quentin Tarantino, the list goes on. And those names are only the famous and the ultra rich, there are many millionaires and not well known CEO's who were successful in life without school.

Never said they were, I'm just saying if I sit and sulk all day and play video games, then ultimately that's how I'll end up.

    School Systems?

The US school system is the worst fucking thing I have ever seen. Thank god I go to a private school, although it is really fucking expensive...

Basically everyone I know in public school has at least 2 hours of homework every night... One girl many times spends around 6 hours on homework in one night. Thats just bullshit. Some of the homework like 120 Spanish translations every night is obviously just busy work to keep the students doing homework all the time and not allowing them to do anything else.

Secondly. They don't give a shit if you learn to think. They just pump you full of facts and if you are good at memorizing you do well. Fun fact: Within 2 years of graduating high school you will have forgotten about 80% of the factual knowledge you learned in school. So within 2 years after high school you will have retained less than a years worth of material. Now, why the fuck do they teach facts when we just forget them?

Well. I go to a Quaker school as some of you may know, and the Quaker teaching philosophy is to teach you how to think.... Not like my school is great at that but its much better than public school......

    School Systems?

My PUBLIC secondary school was quite good, the teachers did care about what grade you got, they do care about what you look like, they care about behaviour.

They recently introduced a new system where missbehaving people get taken out of the school, and into there "seperate school (if you like)" where they get tought in silence until there deemed better to behave.

I know go to Thomas Rotherham College, which is strict on behaviour, you can obviously wear what you want, and the teachers don't seem to care as much, but still do care.

    School Systems?

Well I'm out of high school and in college now, but I can say that the schools I went to were always very good, but difficult. They prepared me for college though...

I went to private schools for most of my life, so I can't say how the public school system was where I live.
