Am I Selfish?

Well, on my highschool we have a thing where we get a day off from school, where we work, and send money to some part of Africa or so.

Like 30% of my school participated. The rest had the day off.

My reason for not participating:

Well, I think that the various diseases down there, are natures own way of getting rid of people, when there are too many. Doesn't make any sense giving birth to like 5 children when you can't even make a living for yourself only.

On another note, how much money have been sent down to Africa the last 100 years? Why send money to a country driven by corruption? The money we send there goes to a bigger army or something.

Opinions? And please, do not make it personal, I am not stupid, and I am not a racist. I don't mind helping others.

Me As A Black Man Myself I Agree With You Many People Donated To Africa But However Africa Seems To Get Raided And Robbed But Yea Why Have So Many Kids?

And to answer your question: no you're not selfish because you believe that the money isn't helping them.

 

I think western civilizations should back off Africa. If you look at the history of western civilization, it's full of poverty, disease, wars, corruption, you name it. And look at us now. We didn't get aid and eventually it turned out kinda well.

Giving aid to Africa is like spoiling a child in my opinion.

You're not selfish if you think the proceeds will go towards funding a corrupt government (like there's any other kind.. wait what? oh fuck, wrong thread..).
