they are most probably bought from a stolen source, but there's no way to tell. they still can't be revoked because they would have been bought off a 3rd-party site. so it's just as safe.

Whats the chance of keys being recovered

 

Key's can't be recovered. I have heard of them being disabled if they are stolen or illegitimately purchased.

Generally you're safe with keys though.
