Damn, my breakdown is finally weaning off and I'm feeling better now and I'm starting to regret sending out that email. lmao

Edit: 20 hours later, old professor responded and took the message well and it gave me a big relief. :)

Happy to hear that the courage it took for you to write the email paid off. Just know that after rain, the sun will always shine. Dark times do not last forever. Easier said than done, but keep your head up. Focus on the positives, do not obsess over the negatives. Being at your lowest means the only way is up.

It's always nice to have someone to talk to. Reach out to others around you, find resources and others who are willing to walk beside you. I can totally relate to how you feel. A few years back, I was in the same boat and it wasn't easy. The best way to find a solution, is to find the main problem. Once you do that, figure out what is leading up to that and your thoughts. If you ever need someone to chat with, send me a brief message and I'll gladly keep in contact with you! If you use discord as a form of communication, add me up. Keep your head up and stay strong.

Panic attacks are something we can not prevent from happening, we can however identify some of the triggers that cause us to have such extreme moments of discomfort and worry, and work on controlling such emotions. While I could see how reaching out to your professor who you pictured as a viable source of advice could be useful, I also I agree that since you have figured it out all on your own it is sometimes better to seek other options for dealing with a mental health issue. Hope all is well with you and you are continuing to seek cognitive behavioral therapy.
