Never really seen this style on a sprite.
Looks pasted in, there is no depth or blending or flow whatsoever.
Read-up on making sprite signatures or search for durial20's old tutorial.

 

agree with xjaa - you should try more effects and less brushes

 

all the sprite sigs i see are all the same all blury and way to much i was trying a different style but w/e
