While the apps for the iPhone are nice, they don't make up for all of the iPhone's shortcomings... As a multimedia/gaming device, the iPhone/iPod Touch can't really be beat. However, I've never been too impressed with the actual phone functionality.

I like having a BlackBerry as my phone and an iPod Touch for when I want music/games. Although, to be honest, I haven't used my touch in a while... I've been using streaming radio apps on the Blackberry for music...

Also, I like the web browsing on the Blackberry more than I do on my iPod. Plus, I can actually type on it. AND it's on Verizon so it's damn fast...

I find nothing wrong with the phone functionality of the iPhone. The iPhone 3G is a pretty fast on the internet and the 3GS is even faster.

although I do enjoy my iPhone a lot I can agree typing on it is sometimes a bitch, and it has this stupid thing that corrects words for you, which is annoying, it corrects iPod to open and bigger to nigger. No lie.

Why do I want a touchscreen?

Just for the record, I don't have a flip phone. Just a random pic I googled.

This is my phone, which I'm very pleased with. ^^

Why do I want a touchscreen?

I recently purchased the new instinct with sprint, it is touch screen. It is a pretty nice touch screen phone but it is a bit over sensitive. I would have to also agree with Matthew.

My w810i sits broken in the corner of my room..

On the topic of touch screen phones, I have an iPod touch so I can kind of speak on this, it's hands down the best portable device I've ever owned.

Jailbreak and head to www.appulous.com and you're all set. Typing can be annoying at times, but everything else the device does makes up for this.

Swan I can tell you haven't used one before by your post.

Owning both at different times (blackberry storm vs. iPhone), I can't see how you would like a blackberry browser over the iPhone's, with the iPhone, you have so much more control, functionality, and the browser speed itself is better.

(Note: I said browser speed, I do like Verizon's 3G coverage a lot better then my current ATT, can't fight you there.)

Why do I want a touchscreen?

I hate touchscreen phones, they're hard to dial on, too sensitive, and you get scratches and fingerprints all over the screen. I don't even see the point in getting a new phone every 5 months, I don't care what the new trend is. I still have a flip phone from years ago and it works fine for me. I've used an iPhone before, the apps are cool but I don't need them. I don't text so I don't really need a Qwerty keyboard on my phone.

Because it's a phone. All I do on a phone is call people, I don't need internet, games, cameras, and all of that other pointless crap. Though I would like to get a Blackberry.
