I'll make this short so everyone reads it.

Ban every trusted person who has been inactive for over six months and give a trade with caution to the ones who are very inactive but get on occasionally. Why? It will save some people from getting scammed if their Sythe account/MSN is hacked.

If the person who is banned decides to come back, they can just create a dispute and the staff will make sure it's really him/her. As for the trade with caution, it shouldn't affect the inactive members as they do not trade a lot, and when they do, the people who trade with them will be more cautious.

A good example of this would be full_tilt being banned.
Not sure how many other people this applies to at the moment.

This is just an idea. It won't have a major impact, but it won't hurt to do it.
    So, what do you think?

No, bad idea. Many people leave over short and long periods of time and then return to be good Sythers. They have the right to this site like me and you do. It's innocent until proven guilty.

Using your same logic, you could also say you should ban mods, because a few mods have scammed before. As goes with OMM, UE, etc.

This would only apply if you're gone for months.
It wouldn't affect the people because it's not like they use their accounts.

Once they decide to, they'll be unbanned.

Have you even considered that staff don't have the time or mindset to hear all the little kids bitching.

Maybe an "Inactivity timer" should be added to members of a certain rank? And it should show something like "This user has been inactive for 3 weeks" or whatever.

I probably should have explained it more. When people are inactive and they get hacked, the staff doesn't immediately find out because the person isn't there to report it. I recall this happened a while back with an inactive ex-moderator, and some people were scammed. It took about a week if not more for the staff to ban him and put the announcement out, when it could have been prevented if he was temporarily banned for being inactive.

Seems a bit unnecessary. It would cause way more hassle than it would do good.

    How would it cause hassle?
The staff ban and unban tons of people and adding a few extras won't destroy the world.

I know this will most definitely get denied but it's worth a shot.
They'll probably just quote you and say denied. >_<

    This is bad idea.
You base your argument on the fact that someone is getting hacked?
Let me tell you: only complete idiots get hacked. If you keep all your soft up to date, dont check/run dangerous links you are fine.
Secondly, all so called 'i've been hacked' are usually coverups for scams anyway.

And if someone trusted really gets hacked - he is a moron and doesnt deserve to be trusted, mm, or w/e.

^ This is not true ;)

Using social engineering you could hack e-mails, using their MSN you could scam people and hack someones Sythe account ;)

As correctly stated above. If you take the necessary precautions, you won't get socially engineered, or deceived in shorter terms.

    This suggestion is absolutely ridiculous.

For one, it contradicts the purpose of a TWC rank. When users see them on members because they're trusted, the rank will lose meaning; anyone who has a legitimate TWC will simply point and say, "look, this ex-mod has one too".

Moreover, people who leave the site for an extended period of time are not going to want to bother with the hassle of finding an available mod, going through the verification process, etc, just to make a couple posts. So, what you're really suggesting is that we make it really hard to trusted members to return, so that most won't even bother.

Anyway, it is really not that hard to keep your account secure.
