Are lucrative Displaynames all sniped by bots, nowadays?

Is it worth trying to grab i.e. a dictionary word, pokemon name or the like that's been freed to the public without a bot instantly obtaining it on a throwaway account? I'm curious as-to if this is simply a rumor.

 

There are plenty of bots that are stealing names right left and center. You should not attempt transferring any name on your own.

 

I've had a couple really nice names sniped by bots as well as some very mediocre mid tier names.

There's one really nice one I had stolen about two years ago that never came off the level 3 throwaway that it's on.
