Why do I want a touchscreen?

I don't get the touchscreen cellphone hype. The only real difference I see between touchscreen and not touchscreen is the number of hands used to operate the phone. Which leads me to the conclusion that touchscreen phones are bullshit.

Am I missing something?

 

I find my iPhone extremely intuitive versus all the physical phones I had in the past, I am much faster with it then I have ever been with a physical qwerty phone.

 

Well

Touch screens can be handy at times.
But also you need 2 hands.

I'd say a normal phone would still do for me.
And the size of the new touch screen phones is huge.

I normaly preffer a good size and a 'Full hand' phone.

But again its good to be... lets just say with the technology

 

I ould buy a touch screen because older phones are not to handy and most touch screen phones have apps.

 

Not only do you need to use more hands..

But!

You can control applications, zoom/zoom out on images, play games, etc etc.

 

Who cares if you need to use two hands? You can still use one hand for the simple things like dialing etc, but if you want to text fast you're going to need to use two hands..

You can do WAY more on newer phones than older phones and tbh most touch screen phones have a lot better applications and you can do a lot more things.

 

I strongly agree but the newer phones have more bugs.

What is this? Am I Jesus? Am I a fucking freak of nature? No, I just have half a brain. You don't need two hands to use a touchscreen phone just as much as you don't need two hands to use a non-touchscreen phone.

It's a gimmick. If you make a product and add touchscreen to it people will go "OMFG TOUCHSCREEN" and flock to your product like lost and confused moths towards a bug zapper.

I can name, 100 or more features or functions my iPhone has compared to a standard flip phone..

 

I agree with mathew, and who wants to put there dirty fingers all over thier screen? as for games (who even plays them), most need buttons, it would be impossible to play super mario on a touch screen.

As for the phone itself, dont compare a new touchscreen with a 5 year old phone. I believe my samsung innov8 is better then an iphone. It has 8 megapixel camera, Built in gps, wifi and all that bullshit, DivX player, real player and it even has a smart reader.

Ummm... There are 10,000 apps for the iPhone, you can access the internet in full HTML. If you buy one, you will say "OMG I wish i had bought this phone ages ago."

LOL Why are you complaining about having to use 2 hands? You can use it with one hand or 2. Touch screen phones are hot right now just like flip phones were hot a while back.
