    Too much Power-Tripping

Look, I'd post on my real account but the reason I'm not is because if I did I'd get banned under bullshit grounds. Basically, too many staff members in the like on this sythe are taking the power too seriously and using it in the wrong way.
I think that staff member's and moderator's actions should be taken into more consideration as many are just plain dicks at times.

    hmm?

I think while some staff members' attitudes have changed, I believe it has more to do with the stress of staffing than actual satisfaction of power. You could however use example to make a stronger claim.

I agree actually the maturity of people should be taken into consideration at some point but it seems sythe himself doesn't understand that.

Maturity is a big factor... If you have any specific examples, you need to post them or we can't help.

Also, you have to acknowledge the pressure on the staff. They are dedicating their time to moderate these forums, and so we don't tend to appreciate spam or immature behaviour, when each staff member has around 10,000 members to account for (if you count that there're about 18 staff, and 180,000+ members).

There is also some inactive memebers from the 180,000+. But yes. They are voluntarily doing their job and trying to do there best.

    Arrow pretty much answered it.

Being a mod has its perks, but a lot of the work we do is tedious, repetitive, and annoying. (ie, spending 20 minutes on a single dispute only to find that the user is lying anyway; infracting the 15th user in a week for creating a vouch thread despite the sticky right above their post saying we don't allow them; listening to a user try to argue their way out of an infraction that they fully deserved, etc). No one is infinitely patient, and sometimes, our frustration is misdirected, or comes off as arrogance.

I don't think any mod here really has a "power trip" problem. At best, some of us just have shorter fuses than others.

I can only imagine the stress put on you mods, i mean.. pressing buttons when someone does something wrong is intense, not to mention having to spend day in and day out on a computer.
Sounds like you should be getting paid or something. . if not, go get a job, your more than likely wasting your time >.<

With all due respects of course.

You also have to consider that mods need to deal with issues that repeat themselves every single day. I think the mod position takes alot of patience, and understanding for retards making the same mistakes over, and over, and over again.

Try thinking about it this way, would you respect the cops if they weren't an authority? And if they didn't have power, and used it?

We currently have that problem in Denmark, no one respects the police, since they can't use any kind of power nor force, without being dragged to court etc. Their life's literally need to be in danger before they can defend themselves.

Sorry for going a bit off topic, just trying to explain why people under stress react as they do.
