    Guide to - capture cards

This guide is intended for anybody who wants to start making montages, machinima, and capturing DVD/VHS/TV for personal use.

Capture cards are generally used to capture output from your TV/Xbox 360/PS3/Wii/other game systems. Before I get too into the capture cards you may want, I just want to say that if you plan on being serious about this, you're going to need to shell out a decent amount of money. Buying a low priced capture card will result in low quality. I very strongly recommend getting at least a mid grade card otherwise you will be unhappy with your results.

What capture card is for me?

I am currently using this capture card myself. It has decent quality for the amount of money it costs. For a quality test please click here.

The best of the best can be found here. It is $250 though, which is a major drawback. You will not find a decent HD capture card for less than $200, though. For a quality test, please watch these videos.

Those are my two suggestions. If you feel that you want a different card, perhaps one cheaper, I suggest checking out these sites:

Nice and simple guide although you may wanna elaborate a bit more on why a certain card is better then the other.

Maybe you could explain to people what you mean by "Capture Card" Have a part in the guide that tells us about them so we can know a bit about capture cards before we get into buying them.

Also another thing you may wanna fix is how you have some words hyperlinked. While I was reading I couldn't tell which words I was supposed to click on so you may just wanna embed the video here or give the link?

I like how you gave people a site where they can buy cards.

Thanks for the feedback, I changed the hyperlinked text to make it more apparent which words to click on and also gave a brief description of what a capture card is used for in the opening paragraph.

    Yes that is much better.
Now I know where I wanna click right away without having to go through each word to find out. :)

It's quite good but you might want to explain how it works and how to set it up. I'm not telling you to but it could make your guide better because people know a lot more about it. It's good though.
