On more informative steps, turning the net just off and on ain't the best way to do it on wlan, if I did read correct lol.

Turn the wlan box that has probably 1 black (energy) string, one-six usb cables, remove the cables from the box and from the wall that theyre plugged into. Next move to ADSL, this time you only have to click on adsl thingie the button down so it goes off, if it doesnt have a switch like this, plug everything off. Then, if it still doesnt change, u probably need to look out for a box that has an usb cable coming into it, no idea wat te fak it is but when I unplugged it too changed my ip under 5 mins :p

Most highspeed providers which don't assign permanent (static, never changing) IP addresses will assign an IP based on the MAC address (the unique hardware address) of what's being used to connect to the internet. Generally, as long as you use the same hardware to connect to the internet, your IP won't change often, if at all.

The following may or may not work with various providers. Some ways of POSSIBLY changing your IP address with a provider MAY include:

    1) Phone them and ask for a new IP. Most providers will want a reason. I don't suggest telling them "Because I got banned for botting" or that you were doing anything illegal---- in other words, don't do what my sister did when the firewall was going ballistic with connection attempts. After getting advice from her boyfriend, she phoned the ISP and said:

Beth: Can I get a new AP address?

    IP Tech: A new what?

    Beth: AP address.

    Tech: A new IP address?

    Beth: Yeah, what I said!

Tech: Why do you need a new IP address?

Beth: Because my boyfriend said to ask you for it.

Tech: We need a reason. What's wrong with the old IP address?

Beth: Well I was trading MP3's on Limewire, and now a million people are trying to connect to me and the fire wall thingie is beeping every two seconds!

Tech: You know that file-sharing is against Mediacom's terms of service?

Beth: I don't care about that! I just need a new AP address---oh and do you know how to make this firewall thingie stop beeping?

Tech: Yes, I can definitely fix that right now.

    About a minute later.....

Beth: Hey it stopped beeping. Thanks!

Tech: No problem. You have a nice day.

Unfortunately, the tech "fixed" the firewall problem by disconnecting us from the internet.

An hour later when I came home (and couldn't connect), I got on the phone and got the same tech, who explained what had happened. It took me five seconds to convince him that my sister had the common sense of a baboon, and about ten minutes to convince him that I would set things up so no more filesharing would occur. We got reconnected with a new IP address, and I was warned that our account would be monitored indefinitely for similar activity and that a repeat offense wouldn't be good.

If your IP won't assign you a new IP address, you can try the following:

    2) Installing a router or removing/disabling/bypassing a router in use. This doesn't work with all providers. If you using a router and can't bypass or disable it, neither of the next two things are likely to help.

    3) Going from Ethernet to USB or vice versa. Many cable/highspeed-modems come with plugs for both options. This also doesn't work with all providers. If you switch to USB, you'll probably need the drivers that came with the modem. You'll also need a cable designed for that use; one may have come with your cable-modem.

Note that USB can be a slower and have more problems than Ethernet.

    4) Putting in a new network card. A new card means a new MAC address. You can buy a new network card for $20 or less. This also might not work with all providers (it does with Cox and Mediacom). Save your receipt so that you can return the card if it doesn't get you a new IP address.

Be aware that if you change your network card, Windows may require that you re-validate. This isn't usually a problem if you legitimately own your copy of Windows.

Just by unplugging ur router doesnt change it likely, ask ur daddy where ur adsl is and plug it off.

this is what i told them when they asked why they said they would get the it department to call me on monday You want to change your ISP because the server you're running (you don't have one, but say it), has broken
So you're moving your website to a hosting service
and the income of connections to your ip address
    are overwhelming

What is worthless? Besides your post?

Just PM me, I hate getting on MSN.

Try uninstalling your wireless network or whatever. I'm not to sure about Wi-Fi as I don't use it, but whatever Ethernet cords you have. Unplug, and just wait. Unless you did that, then idk what to say.

Yes. NEVER log back into any accounts you used on your old IP. If you do, you run the risk of a ban. Then you have to change your IP again

Make sure your Windows Theme is on Classic and that ALL runescape settings in-game are correct. It won't run on the Vista theme so change it to Classic if you haven't already. Hope I helped. :/
