[Denied]Ironman Service Refund Ruling

This thread is a suggestion to change the current ironman refund ruling. Current ruling is that the service provider must pay x4 of the original bank value. This is not accurate representation of what is lost and my suggestion has two options which are:

-A quote on all the items lost on the account using the original service provider's prices and then mix it in with other provider's prices, where applicable. This must be paid to the customer in $ or 07 GP.

-Another option would be to offer the customer a new account that is already at a similar stage to the ironman that was cleaned by a new worker.

Concerns:

1) Pets on the account --> Pets wouldn't count. A customer that has been cleaned on an endgame iron would realistically not care about what pets they had. Even if they did, this wouldn't be part of the rule change. Additionally, the worker would most likely not even clean this as they have no gain in doing so.

2) I got zenyte shard in 10 kills therefore I'll only pay 4m --> Does not work like this as it goes both ways. What if I ended up paying for 1500 corrupted gauntlets? The quote would be based on the average KC needed to get the item back. I.e. 400 corrupted gauntlets for blade/bowfa, 800 if both.

Note: Please don't post anything to do with TOS of service providers etc as that has nothing to do with the suggestion. This ruling would occur after the final verdict has been said, assuming the service provider is liable. I want this thread to be a discussion on this specific rule change.

 

These quotes would be brought up after the service provider has been held liable for the cleaning of the account due to a rogue worker, by a member of staff on Sythe. The quote itself can be obtained from the customer using the prices of the service provider or the service provider themselves. Other service providers could maybe chime in, when asked to confirm the final quote. The staff members on Sythe just have to watch over the entire situation. This quote would consist of mainly end-game items such as zenytes etc. If a customer has a bank video on supplies etc before the order, we could bring the cost of them in too e.g. herb runs/birdhouse runs.

Yup, this is true. This could be proposed by the service provider initially and then if the customer declines, you move onto the former option, where a quote is made.

 

Ok this is been a topic for a long time , I think that is impossible to value ironman items.
Imagine that 1 ironman spent +100 hrs looking for a dragon warhammer obviously the price will be different depending of person to person because it took more for one and less for others.
So in other words there is no way to determine exact prices and that's the problem of doing services with high level ironman because the price of all items varies according to the owner of the account (time spent etc etc).
At any case this discussion will be infinite because nobody will ever reach an agreement that benefit both sides.

 

I already mentioned this (kind of) in the main post. The quote would be based on the average drop rate of the item i.e. dragon warhammer at 5000 shaman kills, as a service. What you said about it being impossible to value ironman items is true, but I believe this option is a much better way to value it than putting a multiplier on the bank. The discussion will NEVER benefit both sides. The service provider will always be at a loss because a worker scammed, costing him money even if it was x4 multiplier or the suggestion I'm proposing. Hiring a dubious worker is on him though.

 

Ok, so we on PvM Services match worker deposits with the same value as clients bank values. For example, we got a worker that has 4b deposit and then that ironman where he was working on gets yoinked for 4b bank.

What would you do? Go.

You seem like forcing the idea that service providers hire dubious worker on purpose, since you keep repeating yourself with that

Why are you question marking? That 4b ironman would probably have spent over 10k$ on services. Also, if you can't afford to pay back, why take the risk of the job?

 

Sure it's not on purpose, but it is your responsibility if a worker does scam?

Thanks for the sarcasm, can see why you would be against it since it would affect you as a service provider, though you haven't provided a good reason why it is not a good idea. For you it's fine if the customer loses 10k$, but it's a problem if you lose it, which is fair.

 

Lets say we have 500+ ironman clients, and they all have like 1.5b+ bank

That would come up to a total of 750b correct? Multiplying that by 4 it comes to a total of 3000b
So we would around 1.35M$ to open a service provider so we could handle 500 ironman clients?

 

Except you wouldn't have 500 simultaneous orders of ironmen with 1.5b+ banks.

But what if that happens.

 

In the future a colossal , big , super alfa duper special and big account service could appear and be able to train 500 accounts at same time with 1.5b each.
Is not an impossible situation

 

Then pay up or get banned? Regardless, if you can't afford to pay if things go wrong, don't take the job? What's so hard to understand?
