Are giftcards safe to accept?

A few people have offered to pay me thru paypal from their visa/mastercard giftcards. It this method safe? Can they easily do a charge back? Thanks

 

Nah it's harder to do a chargeback as the card isn't linked to there actual bank account, so they can't ring there bank asking for a claim.

 

DO NOT DO IT.

Seriously, credit card funded payments have the most likely chance of getting charged back. Someone can call their credit card company and they have to hold the funds and almost 99% of the time, you will lose the case.

 

im not talking about a credit card, but gift cards that you buy in stores/gas stations.

Money from gift cards can't be used to chargeback on.

Credit cards are a different story, and debit (bank) cards can be subject to bank rollbacks.

 

They aren't really gift cards, more like a prepaid debit card.

 

if they are trusted then i say yeah do it.but if your not sure best to be onthe safe side. alot of people arnt scammers at heart but given the oppertunity they will scam.best not give them that oppertunity

However, I suggest you verify with a picture that it's actually a gift card.
