Pretty awesome. I like V2 better because of the blurred text. One thing which I always suggest to people, is to add a border. Without one, I feel like something is missing and it looks... empty.

I really like the effects, not sure about the text tho. "TRIBAL" in v1 is nicely blended in. You could have made it a bit more interesting, theres alot lack space. But overall reeally nice sig, i like it alot. And hell no borders, its fine without.

Pretty nice work here. I like #2 better, the light is more distributed and the it kind of compliments the darkness.

You mixed up the black makeup on his eyes as shadows >.> your light source is slightly off, nothing you can't fix.
You've managed to destroy a lot of the depth by smudging away one of the clowns sides. You don't have to smudge to blend.
His forehead looks stretched.
GJ on the text in verion 2. I noticed the little tribal text you removed
The background smudging (not the blending) could have been waaaaay better if you made it more complex and it could have complemented the flow more.

eh good job anyway one of your best, definatetely your best in my opinion if you make the changes, but thats just me its your sig etc do what you want. I'll try and beat it, I haven't won sotw in ages :C

 

I'd really love to see how it would look if the text on v2 was positioned more to the right shoulder other than the left and shrunk a bit. I think it actually would look a bit nicer, and yet I don't know. It's a suggestion without a thought out outcome. And if you moved the text, maybe sharpen the clipping masks a bit more until where they stand out, yet don't steal the focus away from the focal. Also, as said above, the lightsource. After I've gotten a look at it, it's somewhat off. I will say I do like the outcome of the sig right now, but, If you do the suggestions, I'd really like to see if I helped any. I doubt it though, haha .

Basically, the light source is a fire on his head (like a fire sprouting from his skull) that i found really hard to work with, so i tried my best at moving the lightsource with little dodging/burnings

The render's back arm is only smudged squidge, you can still see his fingers blending in with the clipping masks, and the background is agreeably smudged shitly.

[edit] squidge, the black makeup is actually shadows. The render has a fucking huge flame on his head, not a stretched forehead ^^

 

Arghhhhh, I hate you. Why do you have to make such good signatures.

 

T R 1 B A L - I have a suggestion.
Keep the blur on the second image, BUT add the little "TR1BAL" letters.
Basically, use number one but add the text blur.
