Jagex should change their prayer switching function

Gahh, so some of you probably know that I was at fight caves today ( a thread I made earlier).

So I got to the last round with one sara brew (full) and about 4 super restores full.

So then I met jad, and granted he was pretty hard to hit.

But that's not my point here. My point here is Jagex should change their prayer system. Why?

For example, when you're switching prayers in between Jad's hit, if he is about to hit you with ranged, and his last attack was magic, then you would switch to ranged prayer and he would hit 0 am I correct?

No, not if you're switching your prayer to the correct one right before a few milliseconds jad switches his attacks.

How does that work? Well, apparently I switched prayer just as Jad landed his feet. His ranged attack was just about few millimeters above my before I switched to ranged prayer. But apparently that was too late, the system read that as if I still had magic prayer on. Bam 79, and at that time I had only a few HP left. Here comes the healers killing me. Boohoo, I wasted 3.5 hours, there, ENOUGH OF THAT.


What I'm trying to do here is.

1. Jagex should seriously change their prayer function.
2. Let this be a warning to all of you (but more for those of you that haven't noticed this) that always switch your prayer at least one second in advance and never to wait until the last minute. Trust me, you'll get screwed and you will wish you had all those hours back so you can actually do something productive.

I don't think they can, i remember something about the game processes every 4 clicks (can't remember the exact milliseconds)...

It's impossible for you to make a move within milliseconds before the actualy hit. The server wouldn't have time to transmit your actions in time. As well, you wouldn't have that fast of a reaction anways.

Note: Fastest visual response within simple movement is around 200 millisecond or so...

 

The game has always run on 600 milisecond ticks, that is probably your problem.

The thing is, you used your prayer after he attacked, granted it didn't hit you yet. He had already attacked. Let say you see someone shoot a fire bolt at you, once the fire bolt is on its way you can't just pray mage and hop it does nothing, its already attacked you.

 

Oh fuck off, almost 500 post in under a month and half of them are flaming people, get the fuck outside... None of you're post are helpful or friendly.

Anyway, why didn't you just use the old fashioned prayer interface. :love:

they shouln't actually, everyone gets them easy because they didnt owned because they aren't epic fail noobs. your obviously just pissed because your an epic fail.

 

prayer switching/flicking was greatly influenced by the runetech5 update which renderd flicking good as useless and made u get hit inbetween each switch.

 

Why can u just use one of firecaping services , i think that prayer switching is fully working -.-

I dont know, it was hard. He is talking about how hard it was recently to do jad with the update.

Its also happened to me before, but I don't think it should be changed, I like that its even more difficult to get like that. Makes them all that more rare.

 

I enjoy a challenge instead of just buying it out.

But, good enough advice on here, I'll be sure to refer to them next time.
