Runescape 2006 Or 2009?

And no. There are the same amounts of bots, just different ones. Before there were masses of noob bots gathering shit and selling it then giving the cash to a main... Now people are making good accounts with bots as the detection is failing.

I would spend hours playing Runescape in 2006, I made so much money merchanting and then the GE took it away and that was the beginning of the end for me. I hate GE Merchanting, I think its the gayest thing ever. I want old RuneScape back, I would totally start playing again if we had old RuneScape back

2009
-better graphics
-grand exchange for quickly buying or selling

Overall i liked rs in 2006 way better

 

2006... RS was fun then and everyone was actually nice and not such a dick. Quit for a while after and came back to G.E and Trade limit which was so stupid. Don't play RS much anymore as there's nothing for me to do, in 2006 it was so much different. :noworry:

I loved pre-summoning RuneScape! I used to sit for hours in World 2 Falador park just merchanting... all day... I can stil remember the spots for every item in Falador Park, and the prices of items back then. The only things I like about RuneScape in 2009 is Full screen and clan chat. I miss the those old days of RuneScape sooo much

Edit: Bots are actually worse then ever today, people have made bots that are so advanced JaGeX aren't able to detect them in comparison to 2006 where undetectable bots were unheard of.

I like 2009. How ever there is aspects of the game that I would like to see reverted (although it won't happen).

Likes:
- I love the new graphics.
- I liked PvP worlds when they first came out. Smite was useful and it took a great deal of tactical skill to get a decent KO.
- I like the G.E. but, can see how people would be inclined to not share my opinion.
- I like how Jagex wants to continue to make their game better.
- Today's minigames are very fun and often have great rewards.
- I like how RWt is gone (to an extent).

Although these, mentioned above, are all fine and dandy I miss some old features that have been taken away too:
- I hate the trade limit, all this bullshit about using junk to make trades just makes me sick.
- I miss spending hours selling my things while furiously typing "Selling whip" over and over.
- I truly miss Zezima.
- I never really liked summoning and thought that jagex was too ambitious with their ventures into a new combat skill.

I don't understand the point that people are trying to make about botting being more prevalent today than in 2006. Botting has never really been a mainstream thing to do, things have gotten more sophisticated though and now you can see macros take more complicated. Bots now use Anti-Ban methods that are truly fascinating if you think about it.

I'll probably think of some other stuff and edit my post later but until then; I can't think of anything else.

Without a doubt, 2006. This was when i played legit, and I loved the game back then. Nowadays, not so much

 

06 ftw. Sure I was cheap. I had to borrow 200k from X Zero One X (I paid him back 500k 1.5 YEARS later he is amazing) , a RCer. I made my first 10k there (air running). I used to beg and get around 200 gp from random people. When I learned about air running it was from my irl friend. His dad found it on the forum and made him promise not to tell. When he logged in with a rune scimmy on I demanded he tell me. I then did it made 200k, then went and begged my parents for membership. They got me it and I made 1m by mining like 10k P ess. Then someone said there friend would buy it at blurberry bar so we went and i saw money in wildy and i went to pick it up, got anchiented and died losing my 1m. I pretty much cried and got back to begging, but at lvl 49 ppl weren't lenient. I then got scammed my 200k because of a supposed rare a "toy mouse" it looked like a whip and he said it was so I did the trade. He was like a fricken lvl 25 I should have known lol...

Good ol' times 2006. Were you could just stand in 1 wildy in any world and find someone ur level. My friend gave me his account and I did the santa hat lure thing. 80 range flat 1 all other stas but 87 fishing and 25 prayer. I put on the santa and was skulled luring ppl out. I ran out of prayer, by by santa.

2009 is better. Although it lacks many things it actually seems like a real game now with the graphics and all.

There should be an option for 2006 + 2009 = ftw?
