Cataclysm discussion thread

They will be using focus, not energy.

I will be canceling mine when the new expansion comes out.

So, are they using the reasoning that the goblins were slaves to the horde a long time ago? I always thought they were going to stay a neutral race.
Reworking old content into new content? Sure, let's take away Naxx and make it a lvl80 10/25 man raid, that way we have more time to circle jerk. Let's rework Ony and upgrade her to level 80, Great Idea! Let's destroy the memories of raiding these raids of old with the trashy, less complicated raid of new.

Too much change from when the game first came out for me. Seems like they are gearing the game for casuals, welfare epics, dumbing down the stats, and so much more. I'm a hardcore raider, I like my stats and my old world. I remember raiding for a month and being happy when 1 piece of my tier dropped. Now it seems that if you don't get 2 pieces of tier gear or epics in general a week, people bitch and moan.
I could go on and on, but I doubt you want to hear it.

Keep in Mind the Gadgetzan Goblins are completey different from the Cata-Goblin Race.

Does it really fucking matter? What the hell do you mean 'memories', it's not like they removed all thought of Ony60 whatsoever from your brain. I seriously doubt anyone even uses the damn instances, besides bored people trying to solo her, or achievements. Go cry to Blizzard, not us.

Im not sure what i think about the Cataclysm yet, i dont't really like the goblin and worgen thing.

if you think about it world of warcraft it making a twilight race. cataclysm sounds dumb with all the changes to stats etc and they should just delete hunters...

Dose any one know when the cataclysm beta is out?

 

I like the new races. Worgen was always a cool baddy and now being a playable race is awesome. Goblins though are the cooler side of the Gnome rivalry so I will actually roll one to check it out (Goblin DK maybe?? ) Does the new class availability apply to every class to every race? I figured it just meant Blizz will use lore+common sense to give more classes to each race. I mean there are NPCs like in the old Thunderfury quest chain where you encountered a human/shaman/warlock guy. So maybe its just that I haven't read any blue posts officially stating that EVERY class will be available to EVERY race, just that classes that weren't previously available to races now are... I dunno I just translate differently.

New styles of old locations is pretty awesome too. I think Blizz will go the same route they did with BC in response to the question about what people will experience if they own Vanilla-Wrath but not Cata. If you didn't own BC you still had been patched added content that you could mostly use but major elements could not be accessed without owning Cata (New races, new locations, flying in Azeroth.) It just shows that Blizz wants to keep original feel of the game while still letting it evolve and change with time. What do you think would happen if instead of Cata we just had added a new place to go and check out? Then creating a new character would feel even more disconnected from their end goal and casual or veteran players would feel less inclined to start fresh. Now instead even fresh players still feel immersed in content that their endgame counterparts are roaming nearby in and then Outlands and Northrend is just a vacation spot before heading back into the main world. Just my thoughts on Cata.

I don't want to address complaints about the content here because this looks like its strictly about Cata so I'll talk about Cata.
