Hey just got iTunes and i've just imported my music collection. Now alot of my tracks are from torrent so they have shitty names like "04_rage_against_the_machine_bulletproof_killing_in_the_name_tks-torrentsforreal.mp3" is it possible to get itunes to use the id3 tags to rename it correctly? ("04 - Killing In The Name.mp3")

If it's not doing that automatically... right click on the track in iTunes, click Get Info..., then on the second tab from the right you can enter in metadata.

On my computer that only seems to change the title displayed in iTunes it doesn't seem to change the filename of the file in the destination folder.

I also had to rename each manually one time. I only had 300 songs though. I'm positive you have shit tons more, and I also hope for some sort of tool to do this.

I don't use iTunes, but I believe if you tell iTunes keep your media folder organized, any changes in iTunes will be reflected on the actual file.

I hear you, I had to do it manually with my Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave and Megadeth discographies. If it doesn't do it automatically thats what ya gotta do.

For most of my iTunes songs it will rename them correctly when I play the song. The few that don't though I just do it by hand. If you keep up with it everytime you add music it isn't a big deal at all. This is coming from someone with about 32 gigs of music.

Downloaded music must be changed through the get info as explained. Only CDs and iTunes purchased music is already set out nicely for you.
