Burning a file to a playable DVD

Yeah, well. I have these movies saved on my portable hard drive, in a variety of file types which will burn to a DVD. However there are about 15 of them that have this file type:



It doesn't give me a file type, so I don't know what kind of converter to use to create it into a DVD burnable format.

 

Add an .iso extension, assuming you have "display file types" enabled in Folder Options. I recommend ConvertXToDVD for burning.

 

the file size makes me think that it's a divx file, also try adding .avi as an extension

 

I'm trying the .iso. It's converting it now, I will post results.

 

Why are you even converting an ISO if you're burning it to a disk?

Thats just what i was about to say...

 

Sometimes people have the actual image file of a dvd, such as a ripped image from a dvd. I did this with day of the dead from a long time ago and it worked. But it just depends on what file you have to work with.

 

its an avi file. you just need to add it to the end and then windows vista will (if you chose the right extension) give a preview icon of the file. Seeing that will confirm you have the right extension

 

Its too small to be an .iso
add .avi to then end and use Nero or Ashampoo to burn it to a playable dvd

EDIT: If adding .avi to the end does nothing the go to:

Control Panel > Folder Options > The 'View' tab > Uncheck 'Hide extensions for known file types' > Click Ok
