Can I still buy gold on my main?

I have been seeing everything about RWT popping up lately. Is there still time to buy GP on my main account? I sold all gold a few months back and I am considering returning. Or have they already gone through with these new changes?

 

personally I think it's just a scare tactic. i highly doubt they're gonna be banning buyers when the majority of their players have either bought gold in the past or still buy gold on a regular basis.

 

Imo there's no real reason to be nervous. How much did you buy if you don't mind me asking?

 

Im wondering the same if I should buy or not was thinking like a bill might split it up some kinda skeptical.

 

Maybe get a mid lvl acc, Buy GP, Then transfer it over in a couple days... Idk if this will work but surely better than going straight onto your main

Wow so they actually are enforcing this, gold market is going to take a massive blow.

 

I got a message on my account on Oct 13th saying I've been suspected of RWT in the past and this is my one and only warning. A week later (today), I got a 3 day ban for RWT (minor). Funny thing is, I bought gp for the first time in close to 6 months on the same day they sent the warning message so it'll be interesting to see if they will remove the gp. I didn't realize I got a message until today when I logged into the account management portal.

Seems like they're finally going after buyers.

 

So on the day of these messages going out, I didn’t get one. However when my friend gave me back my Inq and Scythe, I got one a day after the trade which is odd. However he didn’t get one

honestly I have seen quite a few people getting their main accounts banned across the various community discord servers that I'm in. I think that item trading and/or PVP kill/drop trading might become more effective than other methods if they continue to increase the banning rates like this. With that said, I think the single most important thing is finding a seller that doesn't get your accounts banned, sellers all have different methods for preventing their own accounts from getting banned, but it will be important for buyers to find sellers who's own methods pass on as much protection to their customers accounts as possible. On my site/server we have an extremely low ban rate (ie 0 so far since the new jagex announcement) for customer accounts, don't think anybody even got a letter, so I think we may have got quite lucky that the anti-ban methods we are using happen to help out customers just as much as they help us out. It will all be trial and error, maybe you should test out RWT with your alt's instead of your favorite accounts and see what happens and try some of your own methods or ideas for transferring GP. I have had people picking up 5-20b in single trades trying to stock up for after the update goes live and they've had no issues trading on mains, so it really depends on more than just the fact that you buy gold.

It all honestly comes down to the way you RWT and how much you are buying on your account.
If you buy a few hundred M on the account you are regularly playing on from the same ip address (so a real player) the chances of a ban are very very slim. If you are buying/selling Bills on a regular basis then you should be worried as any other trader. Personally i trade a lot of gold and have not have had a ban yet.
Avoid trading on proxies/vpn's and low level accounts and you should be completely fine.

 

I think that's the main reason why they wanted to remove the duel arena/ implement 10M max cash stakes because they know it's too hard to detect RWT via staking
