My Girlfriend and I are starting a website for a photography, we would like somebody to make a logo banner for the top of the site- but that's a different story. Here are some examples of our work, please give honest feedback. Quality is much better than it appears on your computer, Trust me!

    For the first one:

I like the idea of having the focal point around the flower and rock. The thing is though, they don't stand out that well. If you can do something to sort of make the centerpiece stand out, then it could look more standalone and better in my perception.

    Just my idea.

    For the second one:

To be perfectly honest, it seems redundant with the rocks and little "pizazz" if you know what I'm saying.

Sorry if I hurt your feelings in anyway, but you asked for honest responses and I gave them.

I think you should lay off the blurring. It's on way too hard. And, you have a red setting that just makes the piece look...Well, it's hard to focus on.

The blur on the first one kind of ruins it, I much prefer the bottom one.

I'm pretty sure the blurring could actually be a high aperture macro lens, though the focus isn't on the bud, and the colouring's not very nice.

The focal point is in the wrong place, and on the second, it's too plain and usual for my liking.

It's not the quality, it's the colouring (which is wrong and not very nice on the second), and the placement on the first.
