Spamming - Whats Spam and Whats Not

Okay I think spamming is a term thrown around, I think this because spamming is an accusation used practically on every thread. Sure, there is the occasion when a post is annoying or just plain stupid. But, I think it is ridiculous when, say on the RS BlackMarket section, you post on a thread something like 'Nice account goodluck in selling it' is not spamming at all! Simply wishing the seller luck in selling is a nice thing to do and when your accused of 'spamming' it is pretty outrageous that people have the audacity to do so.
This happened to me about 5 minutes ago, I looked at an account worth around $700-ish; something I could not afford, but I wished the seller every bit of luck in finding a buyer and now I am insulting or causing him hassle for doing so?
In writing a 'GL Post' (I will abbreviate a 'Good luck selling post' to this for time saving purposes) you are doing the seller a favour in several ways;
1. You are bumping his thread so more potential buyers can see it.
2. You are wishing him luck for all you superstitious people out there.
3. You are complementing him.

And now the negatives;
1. He may not be able to see an actual buyers post because of the masses and masses of pure spamming of 'Nice account!'
*That was sarcasm* - There would never be that many posts on a thread

And that's about it. PLEASE tell me the reasons behind this being counted as spam.

 

Because it doesn't add anything to the post. What effect does "good luck" have on a thread? The person posting it is doing it for postcount, he doesn't care about your account.

I agree, it gets thrown around WAY too much.

 

Spam is plain and simple.

Think of it this way, would it be convenient for me to post good luck in all selling threads? that's exactly the same situation it doesn't get you anywhere more often from my point of view as a account seller I just hate posts such ass,*good luck*would you take $5 etc.. and those that ask stupid questions which are clearly stated in the first post. It may get thrown around allot, but it doesnt take common sence to know when you should or shouldn't post.

Easy way to put it: Spam is something that is irrevelant to the topic. Example: A person is selling their account. Spam is: I like eggs. Another Example: A person is offering their skilling. Spam is: Can you please give me a free pin?

Spam is something that is completely useless and something that has nothing to do with the topic what so ever. It can even be just random letters.

"nice account, Gl, i can verify" it would be better
