Hey UEs I think it would be very beneficial for someone to make a basic Linux guide. I've never had any experience with it and I think it would be cool to learn about.

Linux is a rather broad subject.. considering that there are various platforms based off of Linux and the many uses Linux has. Are you interested in running a Linux server? Perhaps a personal computer running a platform created off Linux foundations? Developing Linux applications or operating systems?

It's super open ended. I'm sure if you narrowed your request down a little the UE's could throw something together.

Linux can appear in many forms. I assume your looking for a desktop version?
In that case I'd recommend Ubuntu. Ubuntu is actually really easy to use. Unfortunately is most programs these days made for Windows, and won't work on Ubuntu. But Java works fine, I think most Steam games works fine too.

Edit: A huge plus with linux (and Ubuntu) is that it's much more stable than Windows, and will almost never require rebooting. That's why most servers run on Linux.

Unofrtunately Steam games do not run fine on Ubuntu, but you can always use WineHQ.
