Question for Staff or OMM's

Can I use videos as a proof of MMing for my omm application?

 

As long as the video is completely clear, and not very long (you should vid it AFTER the conversation), yes. I asked Sin for permission to do this myself.

 

You must make sure that your video recording software is CLEAR enough to be seen though or else it would be easily fakeable i.e. (logging into a different account but its too small to see)

 

Okay. Cool. I'm probably just going to record the whole thing from the start. I'm going to use hypercam 2. Megamatt, what are you using?

 

Remember that an admin will have to review all 25 proofs. That said, I really don't recommend taking a vid of the entire trade - even if you manage to cut all vids down to 5 minutes each, it will take over 2 hours to look over your app, and that's without even looking closely. Applications already take a fair bit of time to review.

Screenshots are definitely easier for us; if you are going to take vids, I'd suggest doing what Matt is - take a vid slowly scrolling through the convo once the trade is over, and just take screenshots for anything the convo doesn't cover (ie, pin verifications, checking the RS account, Paypal payments, etc).

Also: If you're using hypercam, please make sure there's no "unregistered hypercam" tag blocking the MSN address in the convo. Obviously, we can't accept those.

 

Sound's good. And also do we need a global mod or higher recomedation vouch or are sectionals, omm's, and ex mod's vouches fine?

 

It can be anyone whose opinion is well-trusted by staff (which usually means current or former staff/OMM, including sectionals). If we don't think the vouch is adequate, we'll let you know.
