I agree with this but i dont think they do it for the reason of raising their post count. Usually they hand the account details over and wait a week or two and the recover it. In this time the victim will usually have leveled it, gained money on it or made it a member.

Not cool. Should be against the rules imho.

Lol, there are a handful of people that are posing 3,4,5,6 or more times.
Maybe a post count recount, and removing all spammed posts from people's post count would be nice.

 

JohnK im pretty sure it used to be a rule. I will have Finn or A Gmod look at it or someone in my contacts. I agree it should be against the rules. I mean I sorta see their side that they MAY want to honestly get rid of one as charity but I don't believe the mojority of them either.

You can't just go around assuming people are scammers for being kind.

It's a market, not a donation centre. I'd say a high proportion of people who "give away an account" are not "being kind".

 

Id give away junk accounts tbh.

The idea that all free accounts are recovered is a load of crap. It's just as easy to recover an account that somebody pays for. Since we're talking about a black market here, it's never going to be safe. Buyers should stay cautious and sellers proven to be scammers should be banned. Nothing else we can do.

 

Most free accounts are recovered. A few people who have posted in this thread have said that their time was stolen due to people scamming this way, and I feel there is something we can do by making "no free account threads" a rule so people can get banned for stealing other users time.

I agree with this i hate when people say giving away account and they dont do anything.

support. it clogs up the market and all but i think maybe have a sticky for free account or something? i mean it normally isnt legit but it cant be a scam if they dont get anything... that way it can still happen because im sure all the people who get free accounts wouldnt support removing it entirely
