What is Western Union?

Might sound like a dumb question but what exactly is Western Union?

How do I send/recieve money?
Do I recieve bills or checks?
Where can I go to find a WU?
Do I have to be 18 to use WU?
Any other important info? (Scams, tracking codes?, etc)

First, I'd like to tell you that I'm not 100% sure of all these facts.

There are two ways to send money. Either you can use Credit Card (online) or go to a western union "agent". An agent is a store who have been approved by western union to be able to send money. There are western union agents in most cities. You can find agents here.

I'm pretty sure you just receive the cash when receiving the money from WU. You get the money from one of the agents, by giving them an ID that the sender gets when sending and an ID.

You don't have to be 18 to send money trough WU from an agent.

As I said, the sender gets an ID that the receiver will have to provide when picking up the money. I can't imagine that WU will steal your money, but if you are buying anything; be careful, there's no chargeback here.

western union is a money wiring process which is safer but the fees are quite high.
