Well personally, i think this is great for the gaming economy's, since the prices will go back up, especially for w0w. They've just been attacked my gold farming.

For china, I don't understand why they would do this. China is over populated and they will always have a large unemployment rate, so people want to work for anything. Especially if they can do it while playing w0w or Runescape the whole time. They get paid low, but they want the job, since it is somewhat of a fun job, and they can get paid for it. Also its not like theirs slaves they have their shifts, and they don't have to take the job, but they did.

Theirs no way this law has a chance to even stop the gold farming economy, since its a multi-million dollar industry, plus if they check the factories somehow, the company will just pay them off.

Wow I never thought they would do that, this is something that will probly affect everyone who plays games. But what's going to stop them from gold farming illegally? I have a feeling that the good farming won't halt FULLY

Okay see you say all this but yet have you worked in a sweatshop or done the gold-farmering. i mean yeah im sure USFine, has some people that enjoy their job there but not all of em. and Yeah they all do have choice to work there or not but..think of it as if you had no job and no means of income...and you stumbled upon something like that...wouldnt you test it to see if youd get money from it? Sorry, im just on a rant and rave mood today. but back to the current subject.

Wouldnt you(anyone) without a job try to find any means neccesary to find a job/make money. Weather it be legal or not. Desprite times call for desprite measures... And that is a rather true statement...

But on other hand, i do see where your coming from with all that. The most part of them do enjoy their jobs and do it for fun and for a living, but the irony is they have other jobs too, that support their lifes. like im sure the ones that are of age, do have jobs in the technology feild. Like my neighbor. He works on a USAF base for a job and works for computer software and programming for them. but when hes not working, he is bullsh**ting with games and helping me some days with my computer.

It'll be interesting to see to what extremes China goes to stamp goldfarming out.

We cannot sit here and say what jobs are good and bad in China. Have you been to the facilities where these people work, and have you examined the alternatives to those people working in these so-called "sweatshops"? I can think of many worse jobs in China, how about sorting through technological waste like computer monitors to extract the small pieces of gold inside, where you are exposed directly to carcinogens on a daily basis. How about kids being abused working to make your clothes at the Gap or Nike.

Gold-Farming is not being outlawed because of the conditions faced by the workers. It is being outlawed due to increased pressures from big companies like Sony and Blizzard who hate the fact that these secondary gaming markets are pulling in billions of dollars from games they designed. This is an issue of envy, not one of humanitarianism.

    Your alive!

Oh and to make this not spam... Yes I agree with r2. It is because the MMO people are pressuring China to put a stop to this because they think it is 'ruining' their game.

Chinese people have to make a living somehow, if gold farming is their job then it's not really right to remove it.

200mil - 1bil a year is online "goods" in so much it's hard to believe... but it gives people jobs. Thus helping the economy.

If people are stupid enough to use money on an online game, it's their burden.

I was going to say something like that, I'm sure people that work for goldfarming will make much more money if they worked somewhere els.
